A much deserved thread revival! Thank you TexaSLT for pioneering this mod. I just finished mine, with the minor modifications of removing a bit of the plastic stanchions on the piece below the rubber mat so the charging unit would fit towards the back while allowing me to use all 6 mounting screws. I also removed excess rubber from the plug so everything would sit flat and soldered the wires. A great and easy to do modification. Total time was about a hour and a half, not counting the few minutes it took to free the charger of the case it came in. I will also note that in an odd move, GM actually used a red wire for the hot and a black one for the ground on the accessory plug. Usually they are different colors and leave you guessing.

This is BAMF. I wonder if we can retrofit the wireless console lid into the "older" trucks - older being 14's?

 

If not, I'll just do this.

I’ve done this successfully, but I keep I unplugged because I was worried about heat. Anyone else’s lid get pretty warm?

My '18 came with the wireless charger.  Mine gets hot when charging.  Just seems to be a byproduct of the wireless charging.  Now, if it's getting hot just sitting there on its own not charging anything, that would be be a cause for concern.

Yes the lid gets warm even warmer if you charge through a case. My wireless charger at home also gets warm.
