Tail light problem

Recommended Posts

Having trouble with my tail lights on a 2004 Chevy Silverado. The tail lights quit working I think after I pulled my boat last. I hope I just blew a fuse but not sure what fuse to check. I checked multiple fuses but not sure if I'm checking the right one. Which fuse runs the tail lights? My brake lights and blinkers work. Thanks in advance.

There is a batch of fuses on the drivers end of the dashboard [open the drivers door, then remove the triangular panel that is facing the door]. On the back of the panel should be a diagram of all the fuses and what they are for.

90% chance the fuses are blown, or you should remove your tail lights and see if the connectors are lessen.

May be it's time to upgrade to LED tail lights for good.

I have these LED tail lights from Xtralights and they look much better than stock ones. And they are brighter and look awesome :cold::cold::cold:

I also upgraded to LED backup reverse lights as well.

How much, and do they have it for the later GMT800 type of tail light? Yours looks like the earlier style of taillight.

Sometimes trailer wiring will short out in the water, but that should only blow the trailer fuses. Wiring issue somewhere.

All the GMT 800 taillights are interchangeable.
