Alright guys, so my cruise control has not been working and after some research, I got a lot of answers saying it was due to a bad brake switch. So I went ahead and replaced that and it still wont work. Any other suggestions?

I just changed the brake light switch on a friends truck and that fixed it up

Scan the truck ,

Get service information $27/yr from alldata and look up some easy diagnoses and fuse location

And to follow the code after you get. It pulled , either from the PCM or BCM

+1

Always check for a stored code. Many codes will prevent the cruise from engaging

+1 for the brake switch. Mine took only 10 minutes to replace and Cruise is okay again.

Wheel speed sensor

Vehicle speed sensor will stop cruise from working but not a wheel speed sensor.

Make sure your high brake light works.

Have the same thing on my '08. Ordered the Brake Light Switch, because it's the most likely cause (and, the cheapest.)

Noticed the switch on steering whel is seldom mentioned. Are they "that" reliable?

Hi, I changed my brake light stop switch. But the use of my cruise control is intermittent.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it dosent, sometimes it disengages while being used. I can not confirm any established pattern.

Also noticed that the cruise control will sometimes disengage if bump a window motor down.
