Chevrolet, Buick and GMC will expand their military discount programs for all 21 million U.S. military veterans and their spouses through May 31st. GM didn't include Cadillac in its press announcement and the official GM logo does not include Caddy, so if that brand is of interest to you be sure to phone ahead and ask your local Cadillac dealer if they are participating.

GM has a comprehensive military discount program. The discount is available to U.S. military veterans within one year of separation, active-duty personnel, reservists, retirees and their spouses. In honor of May’s National Military Appreciation Month, the program expands to include all veterans and their spouses – regardless of when they served.

Steve Hill, GM vice president of U.S. sales and service commented on the program, saying, “These brave men and women have done so much for our country. Making sure all veterans can take advantage of our military discount to celebrate Military Appreciation Month is one small way we can express our gratitude.” You can learn more about the discount at this link.

What about disabled veterans they don't count.

When they dont run this May and November promotion, GM doesn't give a damn about vets, able or disable. I know because i am considered a disabled vet. The dealers i have visited tell me i should have either bought while enlisted or wait until their promotion and pick off the lot instead of getting the discount on an order.

A disabled vereran is a veteran...not a need to single them out in an ad.

This is true to any car lot. Mil discount is designed to entice active duty for their DoD money. Whether or not you get a discount that says military is not a big deal. A place will give you a "military discount" and still overcharge you, while somone that knows how to haggle and never served will get the car cheaper just off the manufactured value of the car. I can understand wanting the label, but that is just shady car business across the board, period. Hone those skills, haggle that price. Im active duty, and I never buy during the "mil discount" months. Still buy cheaper than an employee.
