Auto Windows too sensitive

I've had my truck since March and have had the window vent shades that are sold on gm's site. Anyone else have a problem with the automatic windows from them? If it's super hot out the rubber seal is soft enough the window will stay closed but if it not the auto window goes straight back down. Just a pain not being able to use the auto feature.

There's people that have had the same issue. I myself have Weathertech in-channels and have never had the problem.

Yes,I had an issue occasionally for a couple of months, but then summer heat cured the issue, been on for 2yrs and hasn't been an issue since.

+2 for Weathertech - -------actually more like +9 because they've worked fine on the other 6 sets I've used on other vehicles. Personal preference, but l always get the lighter tint which affords better driver visibility in a left turn.

My buddy had the GM accessory ones on his 2015 Silverado Crew Cab (in channel) and he had issues all the time. He swapped them for the stick on style. I purchased the GM accessory ones (in channel) and have never had any issues from day one!....I think it is just luck...

I have AVS in channel on mine . Some days they´re good some days it takes 10 or 15 attempts to get the drivers side up. Once i get the auto up to stop i can inch it up with the switch. Auto down is a good idea but honestly I hate auto up period ....Would love to know if it can be adjusted .

I have EGR in channel and never had any issues.

Pretty sure if you roll the window up and hold the button in the up position for like 5 seconds it recalibrates the auto up functions force so that it wont go back down as easy with the in channel visors. I know ive read it some where on the forum just dont remember where. Ive been going to get the avs in channel ones for my truck but never have yet.

^^ like trvshonda says, do the recal. It doesn't know you've changed the desired stop position and thinks it needs to release whatever it has trapped (like a finger or whatever)

 

Programming the Power Windows

If the battery on the vehicle has been recharged or disconnected, or is not working, the driver power window will need to be reprogrammed for the express-up feature to work.

To reprogram the power windows:

1. Close all doors.

2. Place the ignition in ACC/ ACCESSORY or ON/RUN.

3. From any open position, pull the power window switch up until the window is fully closed.

4. Hold the switch up for approximately two seconds after the window is fully closed.

 

The window is now reprogrammed.

 

Express Window Anti-Pinch Feature

If any object is in the path of the window when express-up is active, the window stops at the obstacle and auto-reverses to a preset factory position. Weather conditions such as severe icing also cause the window to auto-reverse. The window returns to normal operation once the obstacle or condition is removed.

Express Window Anti-Pinch Override

{Warning If express override is activated, the window will not reverse automatically. You or others could be injured and the window could be damaged. Before you use

express override, make sure that all people and obstructions are clear of the window path.}

The anti-pinch feature can be overridden in a supervised mode.

Hold the window switch in the partially or fully pulled up position.

The window rises for as long as the switch is held.

Once the switch is released, the express mode is reactivated.

In this mode, the window can still close on an object in its path.

Use care when using the override mode.

Hmm, you see the post redwngr made? He has the actual way to recalibrate it. Like i said i havent tried this yet since i havent got my vent visors yet ive just read about people having issues with them and seen in a different post about people doing the recal and their problems went away.

Tried the re-calibration again tonight & I think it may have worked this time . Tried the auto up 3 times and not once did it reverse . Nice !!

I had AVS in-channels with my '14 and no issues. Dealer would not install in-channels on my new '16 due to this issue. Looks like I'll be purchasing the weathertechs. Thanks for the info guys

I take this back....took about 15 up and down sequences to get it closed today...oh well its just easier to do the half switch trick.
