What do you wish your truck had?

30 min buffer for the xm radio like ram has.

This was available on the 2014/2015's. Don't know why GM removed it for 2016 :sigh:

Couldn't agree more with a better exhaust....having a 6.2 that sounds like nothing, plus I've also always wondered why it has a plain pipe sticking out the side rather than at least a nice tip or dual out the back like Dodge.

My last car had the radio playback, which I really liked, I didn't know they removed this option, just figured it was never offered. Why remove it?

Really liked the proximity locking/unlocking and push button start on my ATS too, wish it had this.

LED taillamps would be nice too.

I guess the reason these trucks sound like a Prius from the factory is because some people don't want to hear anything, even in a full size truck. Most likely anything from the factory that's somewhat louder than normal most people will still change the exhaust anyways. There's people on here that can't seem to get the perfect exhaust. So I guess GM figures why spend the money on parts, labor and R&D for a louder exhaust since the ones that want a loud truck will change it no matter what while the ones that want it quiet will be happy. Plus it makes the aftermarket happy so I guess it's a win win. I like a loud exhaust while still being crisp and not crackling so I'm pretty sure a "loud" exhaust fromt he factory still wouldn't be loud enough or the right sound for me.

I am very pleased with the features of my truck. Of course I would like more options but none I can think of that would justify the extra expense. The one feature I wish I could have is a truck quality manual transmission. I really enjoy driving a full sized pickup and for me a manual floor shift enhances the enjoyment!

Blind spot monitoring

Auto up and down on all windows

Proximity lock/unlock

6.2, or a factory warrantied supercharger like the TRD one for the Tundra

Rear vents

Rear heated/cooled seats

Heads up display

Better headlights

All in all I really love this truck, but if we're being nit-picky there ya go. Probably my favorite vehicle ever, even over my trusty 04' Trailblazer, which I loved.

Wish I would have opted for a different rear-end. The 3.08 is a dawg.........

I've got a family member that works for Toyota corporate and there are issues with those TRD kits and warranty claims. I don't believe you can get them anymore on many models including the 4Runner, and I think there is a hard look at the Tundra as well. Failure rate was high in TRD equipped trucks

LED headlights instead of HID; GPS through my screen instead of using Onstar; light under the hood; black OEM rims, and 24 miles on the odometer again :)

Wasn't aware of that; shame they're giving people issues on the warranty claims.

A button / menu option for disabling or toggling AFM is my #1.

My only other disappointment is the 2015 8'' intellilink not being upgradable like at all and basically being told it could be when purchased, feels cheap and poor move by GM considering they changed this the next year and offered no OEM upgrade option even for a reasonable amount even though is possible.

    • Yes, and also pulling heavy trailers or a large camper up steep grades as well as descending grades such as the more rustic off road camping locations and using engine braking with that low gearing as well as soft ground can just suck the power . I realize pickups these days tend to have an over all lower first gear ratio compared to automatic transmission pickups from years back so that has helped a lot in its ability in high range but there comes a point if in four wheel drive the torque runs out at the wheels, certainly with a gas engine. They don't put two speed transfer cases on pickups for a cool factor, they have a function if one needs that massive torque to the wheels that high range can't deliver.
    • Notes 7/18/2026   3,400 miles on this batch of Mobil 1 Euro 5W40 since the GDI pump replacement. Alcohol runs very clean when ring seal is tight and the sump isn't getting hosed with fuel. Checked oil level at fill up today as is my practice and grabbed a white Kleenex to look at the color. What color?  I was going to change it but.....
    • 4 low is really nice on steep boat ramps.
    • Interesting, I suspect I would have fueled up in Lee Vining as the day prior I would have filled up either in Laughlin or near there and maybe again before I entered Death Valley and once out the other side late that evening as I kept on driving into the night up near Lee Vining. Next morning I most likely fueled up in LV before heading over Tioga Pass into ( as I refer to it as "Yose .... Mite" 😁 ). And again that was 19 years ago but the price then must not have jumped out at me like the 5 bill a gallon theme of nutty cult hippy country Big Sir or head so far up their rear Aspen. I'd be curious to know where the highest prices are in the lower 48, I probably would not be far off to guess somewhere in Cali forn ie. Coldfoot and Prudhoe bay may have those prices beat but that is a whole other world up there and when prices are more normal elsewhere that is about what they can be up there I believe in no mans land. Anyway interesting that the 395 corridor is hosing people and the thing is, its tourist season and its not like there are a lot of competition options when driving up that highway from what I could see. Yup, big ole Boaterhomes and various other RV's ahead and behind me at the Yosemite entrance gate and they have to get their fuel somewhere.
    • Those can be high, as well as the big California cities. The ones that will pop your eyes out are the 395 corridor on the Eastern side of the Sierra Nevadas. Lee Vining, $7.19 for regular and $8.89 for diesel is what the Google said right now.
