Can it be swap/interchangeable? Help!!!

Hi hello, recently my v8 2001 1500 suburban rear end got destroyed, i have a v6 2004 Silverado 1500 with no motor, i was wondering if i can just swap the rear ends on them, anybody know if it will it work? What could be the problems if i do it and its not compatible???

Are they both leaf spring? When I was looking for a change for my 06, my uncle had a 00 burb but it was coil sprung with air ride and would require the perches and stuff to get moved over. Also the gear ratios were different so because my truck was a 4x4 I needed to change the front diff to match.  Also check to see if the brakes are the same, disc or drum.
