In 4WD, cannot turn lock to lock without transmission disengaging and revving engine

I discovered this problem while trying to pull into parking spaces; that when the 4WD is engaged I cannot turn the wheel all the way left or right without disengaging the transmission and revving the engine. This has led to several near-accidents in busy parking lots full of holiday shoppers when I suddenly stop moving and have to put my hazard flashers on mid-turn. I then put it in 2WD and park. The work-around I have come up with is to put it in 2WD after entering a lot but before trying to park, which is first off ridiculous and also not always realistically possible. I apologize if someone has already posted this issue, and will gratefully accept being pointed in that direction. I leased the truck at the end of September, well after the dealer should have flushed the transmission fluids of their entire inventory. Are all the tires the same size?  Are some worn more than others?

 

And is the pavement ice/snow covered?

Wait...are you trying to turn while engaged in 4wd, while on dry pavement? If so you are just binding the front axle, which is a big NO NO
