The trade value on an open recall'd 6.2 is gonna be a problem even if you jump brands. Its a paperweight at a GM dealer, a Ford dealer, a Ram dealer, a Toyota dealer, etc. Doesn't matter until that recall is closed and even then, there's probably gonna be lower value anyway as a result of all this on the wholesale side for the fixed trucks as well which means lower trade on fixed trucks that are still owned.

We had that problem back in the 5.7 diesel days. At least it was easy to convert to gas and drive on. Easy to get the replacement in salvage yards. We had 3. Lucky us

Dealer: So the VIN# tells alot...I can't buy your truck anyway. There is an open recall with no remedy and has been put on the stop sale list...Manufacturer dealers cannot sell them. It would sit on the lot until there is a remedy and there is no expected date of remedy.

Me: So all it needs to to have the test done and it gets a 10year 150k warranty. You as a dealer should know this and can have it done. I as a GM customer have to wait in line. I have addressed this with GM many times.

Dealer: I understand what you are saying. I am simply passing on what my GM is saying...we have several already parked on the back line with this issue waiting for the remedy on the stop sale. He informed me that until it is lifted or corrected we cannot purchase it.

I mean, a dealer does not have any obligation to buy your trade-in. That would have to come from General Motors.

I never said they do, They offered to until they found out it was a 6.2. Even offered $44K............................. Than everything changed!!!!!

This says a lot about how confident GM is in this test process. They don’t want to take any of these back because they know the potential of failure is still high… I. Sure glad I bought a 6.2 litre Chevy….

Damn that stinks man, GM needs to do better in these situations imo. Does Toyota have issues, you bet they do but they seem to be light years better at trying to make it as less painful as possible to the customer, while GM does what's best for GM only.

Anybody try selling one to Carmax or Carvana? I've sold 2 cars to them. When I put a VIN in, normally get a quote immediately (including on a 24 year old Corvette I didn't sell them). Just put in my 2021 Sierra AT4 6.2L, which has no reported accidents, and Carmax responded 'We'd like to see your car before quoting. We don't see many like this.'

I went to both Carmax was in person offered $35K for my 21 Z71-LTZ 6.2 10 speed 17K miles every option. list price was $66K. Carvana offered $37K.......

wouldn't surprise me if that's about the 6.2l recall, some other people have posted on another forum that they've had gm dealerships not want to take a 6.2l trade in.
