... Also, if you have three knobs that don't light up in the center console ( the inner rings) it is considered normal...
...The headlights that fog up is also normal...

...The color coded bumper piece that flexes is also normal...

Sounds like the GM folks went to the same diagnostic school as the Harley-Davidson techs...EVERYTHING THAT DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY IS "NORMAL".

Hence the reason my Harley's have never been in the HD shop. I bought a service manual, and all the special tools. No Snotty nosed MMI graduate will ever wrench on my bikes!!

Couldn't figure out why my Tow/Haul mode seemed to come on and off on it's own. Discovered that whenever I adjusted the tilt wheel the light would come on or off. Dealer ordered a new wiring harness and should be fixed next week. Anyone else had this issue?

gjk1932, sorry about the shock problem. My guess is that these are not the 75-100 dollar ranchos you buy after market, but shocks made by rancho for GM to GM specifications. I fairly sure GM would not design a suspension based on rancho shock specs etc...

That said, if and when the Bilsteins 5100s come on line for the '14s, I would swap out. You can start with the rear as easy install. then the fronts to level the truck is not already leveled. I have enjoyed the Bilstein ride for 400,000 + miles on various rides and have never had a leak.

Update on mine thats having stabilitrak warning, steering assist warning and brake assist warning..... dealer said 10 codes involved and still tryin to diagnosis the problem

I understand that it seems way bigger then it really is on a forum, but after talking to a few people who work at my local chev and gmc dealer also knowing a few people with many of the problems mentioned on this forum, I think it may be bigger issue then some may think

I talked to a parts guy at my local chevy dealer yesterday and was told that there have been complaints about vibration on new 2014 trucks and new tires were ordered in some cases.

I received a FEDEX notice that my truck has been recalled due to possible fire hazard. I had had starting issues, sometimes starting sometimes not starting with engine warning indicator on. GM wanted the vehicle taken to the dealer immediately and not to drive it with the warning light on. Well, my dealer already took ware of it.

There was also a recall on the rear power window.

Now all I have left is the Power Steering and the Blue LEDs (at least for now)

I should make a YouTube "review" of this truck! Perhaps it will help potential buyers understand what to look for before making the purchase.

Hey everyone,

I had not saw anything regarding the "LDW unavailable" problem getting fixed yet so I would add where I am at with that. I have only had minor problems so far. Foggy highbeams, a rusted trim screw, no led rings and the LDW temporarily unavailable. The LDW unavailable has happen 4-5 times since the 21st of December. The last time it happened I called onstar and had them run a diagnostic check. It came back as no error codes so the onstar advisor said "she would look through my manual". I had done that and the only advise is that the camera might be dirty. Well my windshield was perfectly clean and my Forward Collision Alert was working just fine off the same camera so I knew that wasn't it. She couldn't do anything for me other than log my complaint...

So this morning I had my truck in at my local dealer for the recall update. Picked it up no problems and drove home. I jumped in the truck about 30 mins later and immediately the LDW Unavailable notice pops up. I have today off so I figured I would drive straight back to the dealer. I got the service manager out and showed her. Shut off and started the truck 3 times and it didn't clear itself. She agreed that my windshield was clean and had me keep it on while a tech came out. He hooked his computer up and sure enough, no codes, but there was some warning message for a short in the wiring somewhere. So as of now I have left it with them and they assured me I should have it back by he end up the day. Hopefully that will fix it, assuming they find the short before it does any other damage to the electronics.

My fathers corvette had a short in the wiring and they ended up replacing the whole alternator assembly on that vehicle as it had fried it.

I will post an update when I pick it up and how things go with it after that. Hopefully this might be useful to others out there with the same issue

Well I took my 2014 Silverado LTZ to the dealer for my 14008 safety recall, and service update bulletin 13318 rear sliding window regulator replacement. They made the repairs. I then questioned them about my radio knobs and heater knob not lighting. They had a tec look at it and after taking me onto the lot to show me that none of the trucks lights worked either, we went to a new silverado just off the delivery truck. To his " surprise " they lit up. After another hour more of work, he said they will order new parts to repair the problem. So we will see what happens.
