High frequency noise coming from dash when in 4WD

I think GM did sort of solve the problem within their response. " only heard when the radio and HVAC and other accessories are off". So what GM is saying to us is that if we just turn our radios up and crank the fan, the noise is gone! Thanks GM and your engineers for all the hard work you put into solving this problem.

Unfortunately, I can still hear the noise with the radio and fan turned up. I've also listened to a truck with sound deadening insulation installed around the transfer case module and could still hear the noise (no change really).

Mine also dose it but only for a few seconds did not think much about it

In the passenger compartment, under the instrument panel, right of the accelerator pedal

Nope- it sounds like electrical. I tell me wife it sounds like a tv is on. Just that high pitch electronic noise, cutting in and out.

This isn't a total fix, but have your dealer wrap the transfer case module in two layers of sound deadening insulation. It doesn't completely eliminate the sound, but makes it very tolerable. The only time I can hear it now is if I turn everything off and hit the gas pedal. Even then it is very faint.

Michigander98 is there any way you could take a pic of it for me?i don't exactly know where it is and I would love to just apply sound deadening material myself.

My 07 never did this. That truck was in 4wd a lot! My 15...every time on 4wd. Glad winter is over...
