Took the truck to the Dealer for Heated Seat repair today but they had to order more parts.

Also, discovered that the rear window defogger/deicer no longer works. Appointment for tomorrow.

Are both on the same circuit? Both seated seats and rear defroster are high current draw items that require a relay in the cirucit.

What was your issue with your heated seats??????? you say that like you are taking it in and there really is a FIX for them? Do you know what they are doing to your heated seats? I have heart burn over the heated seats in these 2014 trucks they do not heat up unless you physically sit in them so they are useless when using remote start. Please post back and let us know.

The 2014 Silverado Heated Seats don't work as my 2010 did. When remote starting, I can never even feel the heated seats and am told that it is "normal" not to feel them unless someone is sitting in the seats. On wonders then why do a remote start??

The truck was returned to me today but I could not feel the driver's side heated seat so I need to return the truck to the dealer next week again. I am going to check temperatures of both driver and passenger seats this weekend to see what the difference is.

The dealer told me that the rear window defroster is working normally but It isn't effective as far as I can see.

There appears to be a large number of "works as designed" issues with the truck. I wish I never purchased it.

Dang it I figured as much. I tried a New 2014 FURD truck with heated and cooled seats the other day in remote start and the heated seats warmed up beautifully in remote start WITHOUT anyone sitting in them.. GM engineering has dropped the ball on this one no doubt. Chaps my cold arse LOL

I have never tried if the heated seats in my '09 Impala will come on with remote start. (Don't have heated seats in my truck). I guess the outside temperature has to be below freezing and we do not get much of that here in central Florida.

Yeah pm26 it has to be below 50f typically for the computer to turn the heated seats on plus the menu item has to be selected in the DIC. It is just a bad GM redesign of the seat system and they have made them a lot worse than they ever were. The bad part of it is that the competition FORD has a system that works better so they (GM) are now a few steps behind on this. Everybody may need to move to Florida so we do not even need any heat much less heated seats. What is your GPS coordinates and do you have plenty of room down there? haha

It was 11 degrees this morning. Ran 2 remote cycles while i shoveled the 6 inches of snow of the driveway and sidewalk and my seats were warm...not hot, but obviously warm as soon as i sat in them. Wish they were a little warmer, or maybe more noticeable after one 10 minute remote cycle.

I took a video of my truck remote starting with the large cloud of black smoke and showed it to an independent mechanic who told me he suspected leaky injectors. He was surprised that the dealer didn't check thing more closely. The dealer just stated that they replicate the problem.

You can say the same thing about a rocket that explodes 10 seconds after lift off. "Worked as designed."

Hey SPC,

I'm bummed to hear that you have to make another trip to the dealer. If you would like us to follow up with them please reach out to us via PM with your name, contact information, VIN, current mileage, and involved dealership.

Sincerely,

Jonathan

Was trying to work past all this, seeing as they found both the flapper issue and defective starters on some of the trucks. I will need a truck.

Started crunching numbers with the dealer and the night before I was going down there to probably buy one(the day incentives expired) , they added a "mop and glow" secondary sticker to all of their vehicles for Paint sealant and Scotchgard. Another $800.00 bucks.

So now that deal's a dud. I start over.

About ready to thrown in the towel.

Yes I to have a 2014 Silverado that has failed to start twice in the first three times we tried after taking ownership on Monday 1/24/2014. The truck has been at the dealership since Wed. 1/26/2014 where it sits with less than

50 miles on it. It was about 2 degrees here in NE Ohio on Monday and Tuesday also. The entire purchasing process has been a nightmare at this point as when the dealership was preparing the truck they put a 3" scratch all the way down to the bare metal in the middle of the door. I am a loyal GM guy as my mother-in-law gave 34 years working there before retiring. I have asked for a meeting with the General Manager at the dealership and corporate GM customer service. I will keep all informed with the positive result that will come from that meeting and my continued positive relationship with GM and it's products.

Your experience is the exact reason why I just want to get the keys and forget washing and cleaning when I buy a new vehicle.

I agree. After having my 14's oil changed they brought it out and parked it. I decided to put air in the tires and as I was doing so the service manager came over and insisted he would put air in the tires for me. He took the air hose and after putting air in one tire he yanked on the hose and the metal air nozzle hit my truck and dented it. They attempted to repair the dent, but its still noticeable. Now when he sees me putting air in the tires he says "I'll let you take care of that".
