2015 tow mirrors

2015 mirrors use a door module as the mirror memory positions are communicated with seat position to the BCM for driver 1 and driver 2..

so there is no way to wire in and run 2015 mirrors on an older truck? the mirrors i currently have are the telescoping mirrors. i really like the new look of the 2015 and was thinking of a way to fab them to my 04 duramax.

if i got rid of the middle stud, would the mirrors bolt on? i can wire them in manually.

i can always just drill new mounting holes in the door, has this ever been done yet?

looks like id have to drill holes, wish i had a set tho to see if it could be done before i do it..

I dont believe there is metal where the extra studs are. Very cool idea though. I do know the '15 has door modules, so there may be a feedback wire in that special connector. The 2015 trucks need a reprogram at dealership to change any mirrors. Also the Right mirror has a temp sensor in it that the ECM uses to measure ambient temp for the engine ( which you wouldnt need) .. very expensive Toys, if the work I would love to see the pics!

The whole mount plate is different. You'd have to try and remove the mirror from the bases and see if they will bolt to the correct year bases for your truck.

if it works i would really like to know because i found a set of '15 tow mirrors for $100

if you search on ebay you will find the newest mirrors that mount to 99-07 trucks.

I just posted this in the 1500 section and thought it should also go here. The 2015 chrome tow mirrors are available on ebay for $180.00 a pair for 2007.5 through 2013 models. They are a direct replacement for the factory models and are excellent quality. The clear LED's on the back side of the mirror need to be connected to a wire that's hot when in reverse to light when the truck is in reverse and when you unlock the doors with the remote. There is a reverse wire connection in the MBEC inside the cab that's will work for this. The front amber lights work only as turn signals unless you modify the wiring to make them work as running lights when the headlights are on. This is a picture of my truck with the mirrors installed.
