Projectors don't help. LEDS SUCK in projectors also.

That's bright. Is that HID low and high beam?

Yup. 35 watt 6k lows (factory projectors) and 55watt 6k highs

its all personal preference and you wont really know what you like until you start experimenting

I have hid in my low beam factory projectors. 1,000 times better than halogen. LED's in my high beam reflectors. The LED's are crazy bright up close. I'm just not real happy with the throw down the road. Been thinking about putting HID's in my high beams since I live in a rural town so I'm not worried about blinding anyone out in the country where I live and use my high beams and I'm not worried about the warm up time either because once they are on they usually stay on until I get home or get to town.

Sound like me lol. I've ran HIDS in all 6 of my trucks that I've had in the last 7 years. That's one of the first things I do. Halogen = shit and LED's are nice for color but don't light up the road like HIDS. Case dismissed lol

I agree that it all comes down to person preference. If you are going off roading or live in the country where there's low light then HID is great. I live in a highly populated area in CA so HIDs make me that dick on the road who's blinding oncoming traffic with every big bump in the freeway. As I stated in the original post, it was more important for me to have a solid replacement from the yellow color of stock and something that would last while and look clean and white. LEDs do that :)

If that's the case, deff go LED's. Idc if I'm that "Dick on the road" I can see at night lol. The LED's for my areas were shit.

So I installed the lights yesterday and tested them last night. I've read a few complaints about the opt7 hid kit but I don't understand why. Im impressed and the light output feels/looks to me like its double what the OEM bulb puts out. I'm extremely happy with the kit and the best $95 I've spent to date for the truck. I personally would recommend the 35w 5000k HID kit opt7 offers.

Can you provide a pic of the results? I have a Sierra as well and am seriously considering this upgrade for the price and increased headlight output.

I love them. Here is a link with before and after pictures

 

But I am thinking of switching to these because I think they are pretty bad ass, and love that they allow you to have a reliable demon eye.

Below is what my phone camera took which actually adjusted the lighying of th photo. My dashcam did the same thing adjusting the lighting ..

This below is actually what they looked like while i was driving. There wasnt much throw down the road or off to the sides.

 

My lights look like this at night.

As i mentioned before it appears projectors have better output than reflectors but not every one with projectors liked it. Best of luck though i switched back to halogen

Dont go by this pic, my camera on my phone auto adjust the lighting so it appears theyre bright/white like this but actually werent.

 

Look at smoothbassman pic i quoted above this is what it looked like for me as well.

      I don't wanna do major surgery/upgrades, behind-the-dash work, add amps, change radio etc. on my '26 std cab WT. On the WT, it has the base 7" IOR infotainment setup, and only two speakers (doors). Since I listen to classical, looked around for speakers that do well and dug thru reviews. Two-way speakers were found to be better than 3-way. So I've ordered a pair of  Infinity Reference REF-9632IX 2 way speakers.  [These may  or may not have been discontinued / succeeded by the 3-way ...9633 ones.]    These speakers are lauded for 3 ohm and 94db sensitivity spec so they'll work well for ordinary base car radios without amps and offer better performance (quality,  strength) than  default base paper-cone speakers. They'll be installed in a few days and I'll let y'all know what I think. Bill W San Jose

      Thanks!   Changed out the rear shocks today to Bilstein 5100s.  So far feel much better. The stock Rancho were wore out.  Lots of heavy hauling (2 moves, home renovations, etc).  Next up is new BFG tires Monday.  Cant wait the current tires have little to no wet traction and are super loud (hum)

      How about I just point to the factory pans stand pipe little drain plug and claim its a pan with a real drain plug !. I just couldn't swallow the fact that a Dorman pan which at this point is probably the only pan out there that fits the gas version truck cost that much up here in Canada so I decided initially anyway to skip it and see what I thought of pulling the pan method and down the road if I felt inclined enough then I would either install a drain plug kit in the factory pan if there is enough room for it, or have a bung welded onto it, or put an aftermarket pan on. The thing is if the pan is not pulled then the magnets in the pan can't be inspected and cleaned or if wanting to change out the filter. However of course it certainly would make the job easier to be able to drop the oil first before having to handle the pan if dropping the pan that go around was the goal.    I knew a guy locally that was doing custom field spraying years ago with a pickup pulling a ground driven sprayer, I believe it was a GM pickup with an automatic trans. He had a drain plug in his pan and would drop the oil out of it once a week and top it back up through the dipstick tube to keep refreshing a portion of the oil often and that made the transmission last far longer than had he done nothing. Soft fields pulling 500 gallons of water at the start of each mixed up sprayer tank batch and in low range sucking along. I imagine he got some tips from other custom sprayer outfits doing the same thing at the time and learning from their blown up tranny mistakes. Transmissions then had no lock up converter so would cook the crap out of the fluid slipping that much and it would not have been synthetic fluid either.
