waiting patiently for my DIY kit from pgamboa. can't wait to get these mirrors swapped out on my LT. Debating on waiting awhile to get the new folding switch or just getting it awhile since i'll have the door apart

You don't have to pull the door panel to swap out the switch. Why not tear into it and "Git Er Done". Be ready when the switch comes.

Hmm, that's a good point. If the kit comes in on Saturday, maybe I'll give this a try this weekend. (weather permitting) They're calling for freezing rain and possibly snow.

I've been waiting patiently to get mine installed as well. Just waiting on the weather and some free time. It's killing me. I have the mirrors and the wiring from pgamboa. Still need the switch as well. eBay seems like the cheapest I've found.

Man, it's like 50 degrees and sunny here and I can't finish my mirrors. The mailman didn't bring my wiring kit. Have both mirrors swapped along with covers and both door panels off. Onstar has been mad at me, sending me emails about lights and airbags. Lol

Yeah, i know. Dont remind me either. At least when I get the kit, I'll be able to knock it out pretty quickly. I almost just stole the wires from the DL3 harnesses I have, but I said I better not.

It looks like I'm missing only 2 pins from the body harness (3,34 passenger side) do I need them? I've notice that pgamboa you're missing 34 also, Thanks for the info I really appreciate that

Finally got the kit yesterday and finished up the passenger side. I now have a passenger side turn signal in the mirror. Will tackle the driver's side tonight.

Pgamboa's diy kit was extremely well put together and the included documentation was also very helpful. I managed to get it done even with a 2 yr old asking me every 35 seconds what I was doing. lol

This topic and post has come a long way since the initial research. Let me know what you are trying to accomplish and will try to guide you in the right direction. I see your truck is a 2500HD based on your sig. Pin #34 is a Serial Data Bus #8 which is not needed for the DL3 Mirror upgrade.

Yeah - It's pretty frustrating are different these harnesses are optioned. Make them all the same and see an increase in mirror sales and accessories in general.

Is there a mirror between the two? I just want turn signals in the mirrors not really concerned with power fold. If not do I still need to go through with the diy wiring harness? Truck is 2017 SLE

That's correct.

This mod is for those with LT/SLE trims which don't have a Seat Memory option like the LTZ/SLT trims do.

LT/SLE trims generally come with the standard DL8 Mirror which is just Power Adjust, Heated and Manual Fold.

If you have Seat Memory, you should already have these mirrors.

Performing this upgrade gets you Power Adjust, Power Fold, Turn Signal, Puddle Lamps.

Also, you won't have the Auto Reverse Tilt option, or the ability to Fold with the Key Fob like you would have with LTZ/SLT.

No - Just DL8 and DL3.

The Power Fold circuit is already present in the door harness for LT/SLE Trims. So if you were to get DL3 Mirrors, all you would need is to get the Fold switch for that functionality.

I also now have a Plug and Play Harness to take all the guess work on the circuits. Listed on the For Sale Section.

If you want to DIY, I also offer a DIY "Kit" which comes with the complete instructions on what wires need to be loaded as well as the pre-terminated wire leads. All you need to do is unwrap the harness and insert the wire leads.
