AfterMarket Stereo. No sound

So got an aftermarket dual touch screen for the truck. Got the wiring hooked up and ready. First stereo powers in and connects fine. No sound. Took it to a buddy who does stereo work. He does what he knows and still nothing. So thought maybe it was defective. I got a different stereo and still no change. I’ve seen thoughts about speakers grounding out, needing a pink amp trigger wire and the factory amp in safety mode. I don’t have the amp trigger wire in the factory harness. Just trying to get some insight and ideas without dropping $300

The factory system was Bose. They switched out the speakers to kenwood. I think the factory amp is sill Bose though.

I have no idea where to look to find the factory amp. I’m looking all over the internet. Some are saying drivers side door. Some are saying behind the glove box. And some are saying under the center console. My truck doesn’t have a center console. I see something on the right side behind the glove box but it doesn’t look like an amp. It has wires running into it like plugs do. But it’s like it’s one giant plug

Bose amp is located behind the rear seat passenger right side. On the wall.

Awesome. Thank you. Now any idea how to either bypass it or figure out why it is restricting my sound?

If you cut one of the speakers and it started working i would look at your connections for that specific speaker and possibly even redo it. One speaker can throw the entire amp into protection.

It was replaced before we bought the truck. I haven’t heard the actual BOSE system, but the kenwoods sound really good. Very clear sound and good quality

Granted I don't have a Bose system nor have I heard them...but....

Is the Bose factory system not that good? Replacing Bose for Kenwood sounds like a downgrade.

I have the Bose system. It’s pretty good for a factory system. If you’re an audiophile it won’t suffice. For a person whose never heard anything other than stock systems it’s great. Compareably i could say it’s close to an entry level 5 channel amp speaker sub combo. Idk what the exact wattage is from the bose amp. if anyone knows i would like the number as my google searches haven’t turned anything up.
