after some digging, dokus is in fact a member of this forum

 

Doing these units is his livelihood so I doubt he'll be interested in helping at all but it was worth a shot. Maybe he could offer us some sort of group discount or something along those lines.

What exactly is a HUB?

 

Is he talking about the USB ports? The only kits I've seen have radio, usb, HMI 2.5

Yep, I believe thats what the U2M portion of the radio label stands for.

I did buy a radio module off ebay that is supposedly virgin. It does state on the label that it does have HD. I have not installed it yet because I am waiting for the USB ports.

Mine was virgin as well, surplus. Still no dice.

Just ordered the hmi module and usb plug off eBay. I'll update when they come in and I can try it out. Hopefully I can get away with not doing the firmware update

Yea, I read somewhere that that has been disabled for our trucks. I also saw that different antennas may be needed.

Call me crazy but I could swear mine has HD radio already.  Thers a menu in the stereo where I can have it scan for stations and it will show the -1 -2, etc stations.  When you're listening to ne of those you can even pause/rewind, etc. 

 

Is that something different?
