Hey there. Getting ready to do a TSP cam swap on my 2017 5.3 Sierra and I’m wondering if the Msd intake is worth putting on at the same time?

I’m looking for a list of parts needed and if anyone is seeing worth while gains from it?

Currently have a K&N intake, pacesetter longtubes, true dual exhaust with an H pipe, and 4.88 gears. Thanks in advance

If its just that.  Its not worth all the work.  Better to just do the 6.2 intake manifild and throttle body

Thats strange because people claim decent numbers when they use it on an LT1

Lt1 is a differant motor. Youll see like 20hp from a l83. Is thay worth 1500 bucks to you?  Im just giving my opinion on this from what i would do is all

Hot Rod magazine recently did a test of 20+ intakes for LS motors and I believe the test mule was a 5.3 with a mild cam in it. It may have been 2 or 3 issues back.

I have a ported MSD on my 6.2 and it pulls up top from 5500 to 6k but gave up alot in the mid range.  The L86 intake is done at about 5250 and the MSD will flat line from 5500-6k (at least on my truck).  Makes more hp and tq from 5500 on but don't drive there.  Red is stock L86 intake and blue is MSD.

What other mods do you have? That’s some great data btw and the first time I’ve ever seen a comparison dyno of those two.

L86 intake rocks, wow

Ported tb, AFE cai, 1 7/8" headers with cats, stock cat back, flex fuel tuning.  Runs pretty good but changing it up soon.
