Do the 2019 GM Step Assists fit the 2014-2018 model years?
Trying to figure out if the 2019 Sport Steps will fit my 2016 Silverado.
Thanks.

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that GM will layoff as many as 4,000 people white-collar positions today. Dubbed as "Black Monday" by an investment strategist, the cuts that may start today are a result of a low take rate on an employee offered buy-out announced in October.
I can personally attest to the talent lost at the company in the last few years. Most of the people that I had the pleasure of communicating with for the past twenty years at General Motors no longer work for the company. Most received early retirement buyouts and will move on to other roles at other companies. Those cut today won't be so lucky to get that buyout.

General Motors sent a letter to 50,000 employees this week letting them know that the company plans to offer buyouts to a significant number of employees. The offer will be made to any salaried employee with more than 12 years of service. About 18,000 employees qualify. GM warns that if it does not get enough employees to take the buyout, it will be forced to consider layoffs. This is not an early retirement offer from GM. Rather, employees in their 30s and 40s are being considered. "We always have the need to acquire new talent. We're trying to address ongoing efforts to reduce costs but continue our efforts in working on the future of mobility," said GM Spokesman Pat Morrissey. "We'll continue to recruit in select areas of the business."
GM said in a Wednesday statement. "We are doing this while our company and economy are strong. The voluntary severance program for eligible salaried employees is one example of our efforts to improve cost efficiency."

I waited several extra months for the AT4's release to purchase my truck. Less than 1 day of light driving and 70 miles into my new truck the transmission started to slip in and out of gear. I pulled into a parking lot and when I shifted into revers the truck slowly rolled forward. Onstar had a flat bed tow truck there within an hour to bring the day old truck back to the dealer. The dealer can not start work on the truck until GM approves the new transmission. I am told that there is a lot of extra paperwork and approval because there are so few miles and it is a new truck. I would think that GM would want to maintain their customer loyalty and support their new designs before aggravating buyers of new trucks. I have been a lifelong GM buyer, but thinking that i should have gone with a Ford or Ram. Has anyone else had to wait for repairs on a brand new vehicle?
