Not to be negative, but a 381M with a SRW???  You are going to be weigh over your payload and likely GVWR...And you might push your GCWR if you load up that trailer. What is your truck's payload, etc. on the sticker?  Guessing around 3,600 in High Country trim?

Thanks and no not being negative at all. and that's what I was referring to when I said I've confirmed from 4-5 people that have them I'm good on payload and GCWR. Max payload for me is 3721, loaded up (remember toy haulers by design offset the pin weight due to toys in the very rear/garage area) I'll be about 2900 pin weight.

Max 5th wheel towing for me is 21,200. I'll be around 18k. at 18k + the truck with fuel/humans etc GCWR will be around 26500, max GCWR for me is 29700.

these numbers are on the high end too, normal weights while traveling etc will be less.

Nice, I really like the Momentum, it may very well be my next trailer.  This is the largest one I have owned owned so far at 38'.  I towed it with my 2500 LMM.  I was definitely running right at my max towing capacity but was actually within my payload and axle limits.  Although, one time on the way back from a hunting trip with 3 elk loaded in the box ahead of the 5th wheel, I scaled it and was 200 lbs over on the steering axle and 600 lbs over on the drive axle.  With the garage loaded up, most of the weight was on the trailer axles which kept the pinbox weight down.

Sweet! post up some photos of your truck with your trailer! and yeah sounds like you'd be at the limit on the 2500. haha yeah those elks, especially THREE, add up in weight pretty quick haha.

Good thing 2 of those Elk were quite small.  Not a lot of room in front of the 5th wheel.  Even when the meat is broken down and stacked, it still takes up quite a bit of room.

I have a 351M and went to a dually.  Without the toys in the back, I am at a pin weight of 3,400 pounds.  I have not checked it yet with toys, but we camp more than half the time without the bikes.

Oh right, in FRONT of the 5th wheel, yeah no room at all!

I'll agree a dually is the best way to go, but I'd rather have an SRW and no toy hauler at this time than a DRW and a toy hauler. But I'll never not have toys in the back. all empty pin weight is only around 2600lbs. water tanks on the 381 are mostly over the axles as well but I'm also not going to ever need 150 gallons of fresh either. (I lived in a dry cabin, no running water, in Alaska for 5 years surviving off of two refillable 5 gallon water jugs haha and was perfectly happy).

I believe the water tanks on the 351 are a little more forward of the axles as well which of course adds to pin weight especially with an empty garage.

Don't let the weight police get you down.  :)

I would say disc brakes are worth the money on your trailer when you are towing heavy near or at capacity.

Pickup this truck up on Monday.  It replaces a 2008 that I enjoyed for a long time.

Absolutely love that color with the chrome! This is actually the same spec I hope to get sometime within the next year or so (Cajun Red LTZ with Z71). Funnily enough, my current truck is an '08 too ? I must ask, how do you like the truck so far?

Point Taken.  I loaned my mini to a pair of seniors who had the good fortune of having issues with their main sewer line that requires digging a section up--and they need it fixed now, not later--during this state of emergency.  I just unloaded, unhooked, and left, after wiping the interior of the mini down with sanitizer.  I believe my actions were in compliance with the lock down as I was voluntarily helping seniors with essential services and I never got within 6 feet of anyone.

    • IMNTBHO;  the worst thing for the 6L80 is to be lugged down to low engine rpm while in high gear......AKA, to save fuel.   I rarely use D on my '16 with the 6L80 and use M mode to keep engine RPM above 1500 at the speed I'm driving, which is also benefiticial for the tranny because line pressure is kept up because the pump is actually turning a decent speed, and it's not always hunting to drop to the next gear to lower the engine RPM's.   Never above 30mph.............M3, maybe M4 if just driving thru a small NoDak town Never above 40mph............M4 Never above 50-55mph.............M5   This is way better for the tranny and the engine.........especially if AFM is still active.   262K miles on my OEM 6L80 as I type this.
    • If they had nuclear material for "11 nukes" we'd have seized it.    Our military has been rendered either too weak/dumb to seize it, or they don't have it. Your pick,K-nut. Because right now we're fighting over who gets to toll oil tankers in the strait.    I hope you're man enough to admit you've been taken for a ride when it's finished.
    • I hope you’re man enough to admit that you were wrong when it’s finished.
    • And you're obviously full of it too.  Apparently anything he does is perfect to you.  Don't you think this whole ordeal would have been better if he had maybe thought it all through first before bombing Iran at the request of his bffs in Israel, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar?  They are the ones that had the biggest issue with Iran.  Thus they have been pouring the platitudes and giving gifts/bribes to him.  Had he thought about the consequences of what would happen to the Strait before starting anything, we wouldn't have this issue.  Now he is stuck with no way out of this mess.  But you have your head stuck way deep in his rabbit hole to see anything else.  So no, I don't have TDS.  I see what he is.  The derangement is yours from no oxygen in the rabbit hole.
    • Bringing of the fact that every President has said the same thing. They can’t have nukes. I guess you missed that before epic fury they said they had enough product for 11 nukes and weren’t giving it up. That not political or polarizing. The opposition of that is and giving aid to the enemy. The mandate is decades old through many administrations. The difference is TDS.
