(2019 Silverado 1500 LTZ) It is intermittent but as soon as I plug my phone into the truck via USB-C cable and connect to CarPlay, eventually during my drive when I try to adjust my volume it is super delayed to register the volume change. After a couple minutes the entire dash goes black and restarts. Almost like the infotainment system freezes. No idea what could be causing this and there isn’t anything out there regarding my issue. Any ideas?

have you tried a different cable or another phone to see if it still does it

Yes, newest iPhone and new Apple cable

Do you have your phone also paired to the radio with Bluetooth? I had this problem with my truck, 2020 Trail Boss Custom. I had paired my phone with my truck with Bluetooth and connect the cable to it as well to charge my phone. That’s when my radio would freeze or restart randomly. I ended up deleting the Bluetooth connection and just ran with the wired connection. I haven’t had a problem since. That was my experience with the issue.

That’s really interesting! I’ve been having a similar issue with my radio randomly freezing, and I never thought about the Bluetooth connection being the culprit. I usually keep my phone connected via both Bluetooth and a cable for charging, so I might try deleting the Bluetooth pairing and see if that fixes it. Thanks for sharing your experience—hopefully, this works for me too!

Hopefully it does the trick. The best guess that I can think of is that both the Bluetooth and wired CarPlay fight for the priority connection for the iPhone and that’s what throws the radio into its random freezes.

I don't have an iPhone, but saw a story yesterday that apple has released and update to CarPlay.

Might be worth checking out.

Don't know if it impacts the connectivity issues, but it did mention that on some vehicles it would make more apps available on the screen.
