I guess that it will just have to grow on me over time. GMC's styling and interior looks much better and offers more functionality than Chevy.

C'mon GM..... I thought you could do better than this. Ford and RAM trucks have been kicking your tail in the marketplace for three years straight and this is all you've got???

I'm disappointed. I've been a loyal GM truck owner for over 21 years after having grown up in blue ovals. Looks like I'll be going 'full circle' on my next truck purchase. So long, GM.

I think I'll do the opposite and go to an older GM Truck lol

I have been buying GM trucks since 1976. I think I have bought my last GM truck. Had AFM problems on my current truck resulting in oil burning. Now AFM is on all the trucks. I waited for GM to reveal the new trucks and I am not impressed at all. I will most likely be buying a new Ram truck this spring when the 8 speed transmission is available. The Ram interior, 8 speed transmission, and Air Suspension are all areas I feel GM is lagging behind. I can't understand how they can release a new truck and it is already behind the competition. These trucks were supposed to be "Game Changers", I am not seeing that at all.

Last I knew the 8 speed w/Hemi was available to order in March, delivery in June. Soooo they are going to be knocking on 2014's door.

As far as switching brands, this is probably Rams peak in the cycle of things. So you will be buying high & trading for less in a few years if it is not your forever truck so to speak. I may be completely wrong on that, but new revamped GM, Toyota, Nissan trucks scheduled for 2014 & the new F 150 2015. I like how the Ram 1500 looks, but go read the initial quality reports, crash testing, changing 16 spark plugs every 25-30k & then the problems owners whose truck is 2/3 years old. Obviously no mfg is perfect, but have found it is better to know the devil you are dealing with than learning a new one the hard way.

Those plug changes on the Hemi are expensive. Got quoted $300 to do it on the 08 2500

For the record w/my above post, I like how the F 150 looks in certain trims levels & the Ram 1500 as well & am not knocking anyones choice in what they buy or currently own. Just remember owning a 97 Dodge Ram 1500 that was purchased new & used every excuse I could to get out of it & buy a 2000 GMC. The Dodge 5.2 did burn a quart of oil every 3000 miles & the u-joints were shot at 60,000 miles & it never towed anything. But even with that, it was just getting back into the "home" brand.

As far spark plugs, have heard of people getting quoted $600 range installed at dealerships. But, dealerships generally charge a premium to look out the shop bay in the direction of your truck.

$300- $600 for spark plugs? If anybody is willing to pay that and ok with that price, they are rightfully getting ripped off. A $300 quote for spark plugs is almost unbelievable.

2011 Ram NGK spark plugs : $2.73ea......16 plugs.....$43.68

Absolutely NO WAY it would cost $300-$600, not even close for spark plugs.

Dealers are CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Change them yourself.

Any idea where this truck will be made? I have been leaning toward buying my first Ford or even Toyota (gasp!) truck since they are made in the USA and my Sierra has a "Made in Mexico" sticker on it.

Have not heard of any new mfg points. The main ones I see stamped on trucks in the midwest is Fort Wayne IN assembly. Think they also have two locations in Michigan & one in Silao Mexico. There was a article some months back about the most American built pick up & wanting to say the results were the F150 at 75% US sourced with both Ram & GM following at around 64%.

It may just come down to looking within the doors before you buy something. I remember hearing about some Ford guys having a certain issue & it only affected trucks from either the MI or KS plant. Wanting to say the KS plant was at fault, but has been awhile since I have read about that.

This. My next truck will most likely be an 07 lbz

I think I'll either get a GMT400 or 800 in decent shape with low miles if available. If not I'll buy one that needs a little TLC. It'll be a nice project truck to turn in to a DD along side my current truck.

A guy I work with has a 2011, and I think he told me they need changed every 30,000 miles or so too.

I am wanting a truck this spring and the GM 6.2 won't be available until the fall of 2013. The Ram interior is still much nicer than GM.

I have always bought GM trucks but I am tired of driving my 2007 Sierra. It is going to be hard to do but I think a new Ram is in my future.

After saying I did not like the new 2014 look, I have changed my mind after looking at several high resolution pictures over the past week. I will be purchasing a 2014 Silverado with a colormatched front end and 6.2L engine.

I know I said I initially liked the Sierra better but that's not the case after looking them both over all week. Going to be going with a blue Silverado when they are available.

Hopefully BBP will have the ability to tune the newely designed engine/transmission to get rid of the AFM. If not it will sit in the garage until they get it figured out.

I really think people are too damn worried about AFM. I have 42,000 miles on my 2011 now without an issue. No oil loss or anything. In town you keep the trans in M4 or M5 and AFM stays off. On the highway it doesn't activate often at all at the speeds I drive. Time will tell but for now I'm not worried about it, though I do wish CAFE laws would be rewritten to make stuff like AFM which has little real world benefit from the factory not utilized.
