2014+ owners having issues with their truck?

I heard a weird sound in the rear of the truck yesterday. I was able to duplicate it 2 separate times. I was traveling at a low speed, bumpy road, and thought maybe it was the e-brake not completely off. I'll see if it happens again on my way to work this morning.

I was not able to duplicate this morning. The temp outside was considerabley cooler this morning, wonder if that has any effect.

Both of our 14 Silverado's have been trouble free so far.

Injectors. Common noise with direct injection as discussed on threads here.

The heated seats indicator does not come on during remote start

Heated seats problem not really resolved as they do come on but you can't feel them. GM says they work as they should! Which means they are very poorly designed!

Havent had any problems with my Sierra all terrain other than the touch screen not working for a few minutes one morning. but i suspect it was due to going into reverse, changing the volume and trying to change the xm channel all very quickly. Hasnt happened since.

Also I have had to refresh my XM signal a couple times. I get the channels on the screen but there is no sound. But I wonder if that is more of an XM issue rather than the truck.

My screen went black three times, had to turn off and re-start to get it to work

Silverado's Bluetooth voice recognition SUCKS!!! Never had problems like this with my other vehicle's Bluetooth. So I know it's NOT me.

Mine also has difficulty understanding me, even if I talk directly up towards the microphone. Sometimes it's not worth even trying the voice command.

I had 7 out of 8 of those same issues you are having on my last truck. Chevy did a buy back program and gave me a fully loaded truck in return. This one so far seems to be doing the job very well. However, my knobs still don't light up, the chrome trim seems dated and I'm starting to get a burnt smell from the engine compartment on further drives.

I have the burnt oil smell from time to time. Did you find out what is causing it? I have a dealer appointment Friday.

The microphone in this is designed to work best with your butt in the seat and you looking straight forward out the windshield (driving) and talking in a normal tone and volume speaking voice. If you look up at the microphone and yell at the damn thing you'll just make it worse

Not yet, I got an appointment for tomorrow morning. My mylink is also going all haywire!

Oh well...Here I am again at just ~1500 miles. Now my power driver seat, side mirrors, and pedals wont adjust. Power passenger seat will adjust. I checked the fuses for everything and they look good. Is there something else I can check that might control these electronics?

Already had the rack and pinion replaced at ~900 miles because of no power steering on several occasions....now this.

Love the truck but hate the issues...major inconvenience to keep going back to the dealer and getting some crappy loaner car when I paid for a $46k truck. Supposed to drop it off tomorrow morning.

Extremely disappointed.

Background:
In mid-October 2013, I purchased a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado LT 4x4 Crew Cab (5.3L engine/ 6 speed Trans./ 3.08 axle ratio) from one the local Miami Area Chevy dealerships. I was initially extremely satisfied with my new vehicle, as in my eyes it was an upgrade from my previous vehicle, a 2007 Chevrolet HHR. However, as I began to drive the truck I noticed a few things.
The primary thing I noticed were very harsh shifts from First to Second gear (while the rest were smooth). I also noticed that when pressure was taken off the accelerator (to slow down without braking) and then reapplied (to accelerate), the truck would violently jerk forward.
Additionally, when I purchased the truck, I noticed that it had the normal "ticking" of direct injection engines, just as my HHR had. However, after a few days the engine developed a separate noise, which was not present when I test drove the vehicle. This new noise can best be described as a knocking sound.
The "Service" Visit:
Extremely concerned and equally shocked by both this knocking noise and the unusual gear shifts, I dropped off the vehicle at the dealership so "they" could investigate the problems. I coordinated this so that the vehicle would be at the dealership while I was out of town, so as to not inconvenience anyone or unnecessarily cause the dealership to incur costs of providing loaner/rental.
In the event I was still out of town when the inquiry/necessary repairs to the vehicle were completed, the dealership was provided with instructions to contact my father so that he could pick it up, or take any necessary action.
After five days and no word, at my prompting, my father contacted the dealership and was told that the investigation into the cause of the problems was complete. He went to the dealership to pickup the vehicle, and was told by Mr. [sERVICE REPRESENTATIVE] that they had "hooked the vehicle up to the computer," and that it did not show anything wrong with the vehicle. The representative was then taken to the vehicle and the knocking noise was specifically pointed out to the service representative and later, in the presence of the rep, to a mechanic specifically. Both dealership employees acknowledged the knocking noise. They then tried to convince my father that the noise was normal of these vehicles by showing him a similar Silverado, and attempting to convince him that it too had what they described as a similar knocking noise. Notably, my vehicle did not have any knocking noise at the time of purchase.
While at the dealership, my father noticed that the service representative was referencing certain computer printouts. When my father asked for them, the representative refused to give them to him. When further prompted, he finally turned over the papers. They included vehicle build information and two bulletins from Chevrolet (# PI1029 7 #PIP5149A). The former involves clunks while up-shifting and firm downshifts; The later involves, in pertinent part, poor shifting transmissions during the 1 & 2 and 2 & 3 shifts.
Indicated on the former (PI1029) was a handwritten note emphasizing the part that stated "built prior to July 3, 2013," Next to which was written "Build date July 30, 2013". (Apparently to the Chevy dealer a later build date automatically eliminates this as the potential culprit).
On the later, (PIP5149A), emphasis was placed on "MUST HAVE EITHER a P0324 and/or EXCESSIVE Spark RETARD. If neither of those two conditions present, this PI does not apply." Also emphasized on the same PI, under Recommendation/ Instructions, were the words "On vehicle built before 8/20/13:" under which it states, "[t]he dealer is authorized to remove the oil pan and inspect the oil squirters for contact." However, nothing elses was noted.
Disturbingly, no service invoice, manifest, diagnostic results, and/or anything similar thereto was provided, evidencing that the truck had been left for service or that any investigation whatsoever had taken place.
I purchased this truck brand new, and paid for it as such at nearly $40,000. When I purchased the vehicle, I expected the quality and workmanship associated with a new vehicle. I expected the good quality and workmanship for which Chevrolet has earned a reputation through their previous products, such as my 2007 HHR. (And which they readily tout as such.) I would not have purchased a car that less than one month after coming off the lot would sound like and drive like, for lack of a better expression, an old jalopy.
Moreover, the thought of Chevrolet dealership service department failing to conduct any investigation into a customer complaint beyond (allegedly) hooking it up to the computer, and even more shockingly failing to provide any invoice, manifest or proof of the investigation/work done is ludicrous.
I hope that all the problems with my Silverado can be resolved rapidly and amicably, as I would love to have the same excellent impression of Chevrolet and Chevrolet products I once had. However, in the event they are not, I will be seeking legal counsel to assist me in the resolution of these matters.
I am going to attempt to take the truck back and pick it up myself later this week/early next and maybe get some explanations or at a minimum something in writing.
