First of all nice job. Secondly, does your pods come on only in reverse, or did you attach a switch so that you can turn them on individually? Could you provide a parts list that you used for mounting? Thanks

Should post a picture if you can of where you tapped into for power and stuff very nice

I just tapped the harness right above where the lights are mounted so that they only come on in reverse or when you hit the unlock button at night.

The harness where the light pods are being mounted or...? Can you tell I'm not to mechanically inclined. [emoji6]

Basically there are two harnesses, one for each tail light. I tapped in the passenger side right where it passes over where I mounted the light pod and on the drivers side I tapped in right where the harness leaves the rear distribution block, again, right over where the light is mounted.

I finally installed my Airaid JR Kit with red filter, Truck can breath now and sounds great with Magnaflow

Good thing checked on M.I.T install today, had a full turn on Tube barb fittings and tightened all four clamps

so the additional lighting doesn't flood out the view of your camera on the screen when backing up? Also, do you have a website for the LEDs that you used, and I'd like to pick your brain as far as how you went about installing....Thanks

These are the exact lights that I purchased. You can find similar sets on ebay for a couple bucks less. I think I paid around $25 shipped.

They do have the turn signals, but no bubble. I didn't know any tow mirrors had that. The spotter mirror serves that function pretty well though.

Could you possibly post a pic of your mirrors from the mirror side, and how do you like the look? Thanks man..

.... Also, were those tow mirrors made specifically for your truck, or is it universal to Chevys and GMCs

They are the HD mirrors, definitely not 110% PNP on trucks that don't come with them. Cant speak for the 15+ HDs but I know the early HD 15's even needed some changes in wiring or new wires to be run. If you get some you'll need to change wire harness or go the much easier and cheaper route, and just hardwire the 2 new components (white reverse lights and amber running lights) yourself. I did the second route when I got mine, much easier for me and cheaper.

The mirrors are made for the K2 body style. So you could put those exact mirrors on your truck, mine, or anyone else with a 14+ 1500 or 15+ 2500.

The bubble mirror you speak of is only a bubble cause its on a non-tow mirror. Tow mirrors have a much bigger version on both sides of the truck.

Got my OEM built unbranded LMZ bulbs, works great and bright as f*** - no relay harness required confirmed!! and everything fits under the cap!

Played with the beam pattern a lot, this is the closest to stock I can get to with clean cutoff (I referenced the halogen bulb's offset)

Original Halogen bulb:

4500LM LED bulb:

I modified the direction of the wires to come out from the side and took off the back plate to add better air flow:

Yes, it does fit under the original dust cap, without the back plate removed, it runs hot, but you can still keep your fingers on the heatsink for 1-3 seconds before it gets a bit hot to touch, I think it is not that bad.

Running without any issues other than one light spot I cannot elimitate doesnt matter which direction I rotate them to. I can reproduce the pattern where it shows up 2 light spots with a curve up cutoff from motomedic or I get perfect cutoff with just 1 light spot.

No one has flashed me yet while running the 4500lm in my fogs too, I think it is actually brighter in my fogs..........

4500lm X 4 = 18000lm!!!!!! I dont think I need a light bar, I can see everything here in the boonies with zero street lights!

Why should I get the HC when I can get the whole interior for $700 bucks instead of $10K?

I know this silly question applied to everything else like : why not get the Ltz or Denali and so on etc... No punt intended!

I got my fully loaded Ltz with every options that the HC don't have .Except for the red interior for $10k less

I was just lucky to have found the whole interior from a brand new wrecked truck for just $700 bucks. ;) would you do it? lol

So the sticker on your loaded ltz was 45k?

Where did you get these? What do you mean "OEM built"? I'm not aware of any manufacture that ships this kind of lighting from the factory on a new vehicle?

    • Progress... sort of.   Intake is disassembled, spider is out, fuel lines removed. Used a torch on the stripped screw with the lower intake off, much easier when I've got the intake sitting on my workbench, I made it talk. Walked right out with a pair of vice grips once it was nice and toasty hot.   New parts are piling up on my service cart waiting to be installed. Distributor, temperature sensor, new gaskets, fuel line kit, themostat, water neck.   My new pickle is I don't want to spend $600 on a replacement spider. I'm not sure IT is bad. I'm probably splitting hairs. Or it's $300 to send mine away and another 3 weeks of the truck just sitting. I have half a mind to assemble everything with the old spider to see if I can get away with just replacing the fuel pressure regulator to be safe. The obvious issue was the gushing high pressure fuel line which will be replaced. Getting to the spider really isn't that hard, and now I know what I'm doing , swapping it would be a breeze should it absolutely need one. Stupid, or smart?   The part that gives me pause is replacing the distributor. Well, it's already out. And I didn't mark it, whoopsie! Engine was at TDC when I removed it, I know that, so upon correct reinstall the metal tip on the rotor should point to the TDC mark on the distributor because that's where it was pointing on the old distributor. Worst case I'm a tooth off and have to re-stab it.   But then, what? I assume the truck will start. It doesn't appear the timing can be set. Here's the problem: These distributors can't be rotated but a degree or two, by design. What I read is Cam ****** needs to be -2 to +2 degrees, ideally at 0 (and checked/set above 1000 rpm). There should be enough wiggle to get that properly set, but checking the reported value is another potential issue. My Actron 9185 scanner says it supports enhanced GM PIDs and Cam ****** is one of them but it's unclear that I'll be able to correctly see it over OBD 1.5. I can see why people end up junking these things with life left in them. They're an absolute nightmare with tweener-year diagnostics/electronics and unobtanium parts.   Fingers crossed it starts and idles nicely. There can be hope, right? I'ma buy a lottery ticket the same day just in case.   Next steps..DO IT. I have not installed an intake before so I've been reading and watching a lot. Some say NO RTV except on china walls, some say DO RTV on water ports but not fuel/air intake. 1/4 or 3/8 bead on China walls? I think my strategy will be, obviously, RTV china walls with overlap on the gasket corners. Chapstick-style RTV the water ports. Leave intake ports dry. The only set of intake gaskets I could find locally are Edelbrock performance gaskets (uh...for an asthmatic 190hp V6? LOL) so we'll see how they do.   #NoToolLeftBehind. It took an hour, but my recovery mission for my deep 10mm socket was successful. It had rolled down the bellhousing and wedged itself between what I think are the fuel lines? I couldn't see it at all, but with a junk antenna I had laying around, I blindly went poking/sweeping for it, heard it clink, raised the truck, and caught a sliver glimpse of chrome with a flashlight way up there in Narnia. I had pushed it farther along the lines holding it captive, but within access of severely improvised tools, poking and cursing at it to finally knock it free to where I could get a fingertip on it to bring it home.    Not much to see.
