Thanks, and toCajunFries it is a yellow tint wrap I got from Amazon for like 7 bucks. Tbh, kinda wanted to get rid of it last couple weeks but the output is pretty cool and useful (I'd say).

Low and behold, I got in an accident with the truck today.... Pretty beat up over it, but I think she will be okay.

I hope this truck isn't totalled, I want it fixed, but if it is, I'll get another one. I love it so much, I hate to have it be this way. In a dumb way of thinking I feel like I let her down today. She's never given me any sh*t, despite all the coworkers at my Toyota dealership talking trash on it. It still starts everyday and keeps me safe.

Glad you're okay.  Brought some flashbacks for me.  It's not totaled, mine was totaled, and was far worse shape than that.

Thanks, and yeah, you called it. I heard back from insurance and they are going forward with repairs. I've only been more happy to have a 5.3L once... and that was the day I picked this thing up as my first truck, first chevy, and first car I went out of my way to look for, and purchase.

Proud of it. I just hope it doesn't do what my jeep did and exact revenge every time I cash a paycheck XD

Thanks to everybody for their kind words on the whole thing. Pretty tore up about it as the other guy had his family with a little girl inside. Even though I have a girlfriend and no kids planned, it still hit me hardest to see her being pulled out afterwards. That'll stick with me for a while. Glad they came away with no injuries too.

Well... Got t stick in the mud on one of my hunting trails... So my uncle came and got me out... Then I backed into his truck hitch😣

Now I need a bumper.  I bought an eBay bumper to be painted and I am not happy with the fit and finish... So I am thinking of getting an aftermarket bumper...

On top of that, my black/red redline wheels are scratched with swirls...  I need to paint them.

One time where the last minute decision to do something is the stupid thing I regret... Lost time and money over this..  still.need a bumper and to paint

Hey Jaime,

Where in Nor Cal are you? I have an epic story about getting my truck and then my dad's truck stuck after we tried to use it to get me out of the sandy Salinas River. Long story not made short, I was wheelin' my truck when it got stuck in sand (the Salinas River is an underground river and makes for a lot of "quicksand" areas. We were trying to dig and slide my struck out when some city engineers that we saw pass by up on the banks a while back opened up some of the dam gates upriver and a trickle of water started coming our way. The trickle became bigger, and bigger, and bigger and then our efforts had to quickly shift to digging trenches and new pathways for the water to flow AROUND the truck. I called my brother in the meantime and he drove my dad's truck down the river to where I was. We could tell that it wasn't going to work and that he shouldn't get too close, but it was too late. Even with heavily deflated tires he got sucked in. A group of ATVs passed by, said that a friend's truck with 44s got stuck there a week ago, and tried to help pull us out, but no luck. So there we were with two relatively new trucks about to be eaten by the river; DEFINITELY an insurance claim that would get denied in two seconds (trespassing and operating off-road). My only hope was to get a field tractor down there (Salinas is a huge agricultural town and those field tractors can get in and out of anything). So I called a friend that's high up in the Merrill Farms company and he sends down a tractor to help me. I thought it was just going to be one of the run of the mill field tractors, but instead here comes this massive tank treaded CAT. It pulls us out like it's pulling out two feathers and we make it out just before the entire area is TOTALLY UNDERWATER! It was like a movie!!! We make it up the banks and back onto the farm road and see that the exit to the paved street is blocked by a field truck. We know that we're in trouble for trespassing, so we drive up to the land owner and he lets us have it. We accept full responsibility, but he decides not to involve the law because he knows my family and the family that helped get us out. Nonetheless, I offer to mend fences, literally, and go back the next day and work on a fence line to keep that entrance blocked from stupid teen/20yr old kids like myself. As for the tractor driver and my friend that sent him, the payment there was a new $400 Callaway Big Bertha for the tractor driver.

CajunFries,

Is that New Era out in Agoura Hills? Alex is the tuner, right? Please tell me exactly what you think about them...good, bad, and ugly (feel free to PM). I've been thinking about an in-person tune by them, Full Throttle Kustomz, or Addiction Motorsports because I've got a Black Bear Performance Tune with my Magnuson and Meth, but I know an in-person would be better.

I love it man! He doesn’t sugar coat anything. And if there’s something you aren’t satisfied with, he’ll do his best to fix it. My truck was having problem idling after the first time I got tuned, he said bring it back and he’ll fix it right away. Then yesterday after we finished up, I drove away and the throttle felt a lil too touchy... he stopped tuning the car that he was in and came to fix my throttle right away. We also went for a drive around to block to really make sure it was how I like it. Starting and stopping a few times. Really straight forward guy!

Retune was $250 and an extra $100 for adding flex fuel

Very cool.

Where are you, and what is the structure you are crossing?

I went to go look at a golf cart in a neighborhood in the mountains. That was how the neighborhood built the crossing. It was just like a concrete pad just below the surface of the water.

What's funny about this situation is that I had just drove my truck from Northern California to arkansas. I wasn't there 24 hours and I decided to go down to check out some of my hunting land...  It recently rained but I didn't think I would have an issue. And I got stuck down there I knew I was in trouble.  I call my cousin to bring one of the tractors from the farm down there to get me out, but he wasn't there. So my uncle brought his truck down there. But if he couldn't get me out with the truck, he was going to bring the other tractor. At this point I am just kicking myself. But thankfully it's really not that bad. I just need a bumper put on and at this point I think I'm going to go with the aftermarket bumper.

I’ve done quite a few things the past couple of weeks. I rebuilt a Lexus for my son so I’ve been driving it. While my truck sat, some birds built a nest behind the grill. And when I’d turn my headlights on, the turn signal in my driver’s outside mirror would come on dimly. Brought the truck into the shop to address those issues. Removed the bird nest and diagnosed the mirror light. I expected to find damage wires from the birds. Nope. Turns out the fan on my LED bulbs was going bad and backfeeding down the light circuit. Replaced the LED bulbs with the Sylvania LED bulbs with the 5 year warranty. Fixed my problem. Also, installed my 2.5 HMI and Radio module programmed by WAMS. Works great!! Also brought the truck in to do a service in preparation to go to Florida for spring break. While doing the service, found our my AC wasn’t working because my compressor was bad. Replaced my compressor, high pressure line, and all three drive belts as well as the service and replacing the rear brakes. Back to 100% now. 340abe1e3d12bca3c6178d300303c591.jpg

Started to clean her up in anticipation of doing a total paint correction, ( waiting on a new polisher and lake country pads) and a coat of CG Hydro Slick Ceramic Coating hyperwax, and full detail underneath. I'm going to pull the Borla exhaust off and clean it up so it looks new.... Not that tough a job .
Clean all the rusty spots up and shoot it with satin black rust-oleum.

While it looks good as it sits , I can make it way better.1861792e6c5c6a91a6aac6ac5b828ed1.jpg
