I'm having the same issue with my 2018. The light constantly flickers on & off.

Looks like no one in that thread has tried what boettcher40 and shakenfake have tried.  I'll pull it this weekend and take a look and report my findings to THAT thread.

so was it easy enuff to pop off the buttons themselves to get to the spots where they are?  or did you take it apart from the back?

i'm gonna pull it this weekend and give it a look but i'm worried about breaking something and it not going back together.  i too have quite a bit of smc and audio wiring soldering experience, so if this is a thing i would rather do that than drop a hundo on a new piece.

any link to those leds you found? i just checked out digikey and there is an ocean of them hahaha 😰

Took it apart from the back. The PCB is attached to the back white molded piece, which is held in by small clips. A few small screwdrivers and it's simple to pop them apart. The round knobs for volume and temperature control are held in with clips so I just used a few small flatheads to wiggle them off, which you'll need to remove before you can separate the PCB from button cover piece.

This is the only other picture I took, I had a spare HVAC unit that I practiced on before attempting. One helpful tip would be solder some leads on the positive/negative sides of a 3v battery to test your LED's individually before reassembly. This way if a connection isn't making contact you know to reset and resolder each end of the LED. I believe I just took a calipers to find the overall dimensions of the LED and filtered by that on Digikey, then ordered a few different variations depending on forward voltage. Looks like I ordered them in red (I want to say I attempted to switch all white LED's to red but it didn't look very good lol) but below are snips of the part #'s from my invoice. Definitely a starting point for you, because as you found out there are hundreds of thousands of parts on digikey haha.

Another way to determine voltage of each LED would be take the HVAC unit apart and plug it in. Use a multimeter to find the forward voltage of those white LED's while the parking lights are on. If my memory is correct it was around 2.8v? Let me know if you have any more questions, my inbox is always open!

I have never tried it, but  I know for a fact that some of the guys in the lowered truck community have red back lighting and stuff like that.

I have done it to a GMT-800 though so I know the base principle of how to do it

awesome!! thanks dude!! i'll let ya know if i have any questions once i get into it, but it actually seems pretty str8 forward once getting the unit open as far as what's what.  i'll just have to be patient with that since these plastics are brittle on parts like this,  thanks a ton for the LED info tho, haha that was gonna be a long drilldown.  😂

Good luck getting that stuff shipped. We are having a ****** of a time getting stuff sent over from China at work right now lol

Last time I ordered off Ali-Express back in September I got my item after about a month and a half. Maybe like 2 days before the expected arrival date.

Just for fun you could check SuperBrightLEDs.com Sometimes they carry stuff like this, it is where I bought my bulbs, and they are located somewhere in Missouri I believe.

haha holy dog sh!+... they DO!

But also Digikey is in MN... i think either would be getting these from China anyway, and both list them as in stock and able to ship today.

I can't remember how long my digikey order took last time, even though they say both ship today it may be next month before you get one of them lol

I didn't even notice that invoice was from digikey.

You are going to be blown away by these. I'm in a facebook group called headlight junkies and Diode is one of the staples in the lighting community. I only have the pro's, and with my old stock projectors and a mid-tier 45w HID kit the fogs were brighter than my low beams. Also you won't be blinding incoming traffic due to their TIR lens technology. They literally light up EVERYTHING in the ditch, and have top notch customer support if you ever need anything. Post some comparison pictures!

They should arrive Friday if the weather holds up I will have them on that night
I have the Hylux 50w ballast and some 35w HID's in the factory projectors now haven't really been satisfied with the oem fog's at all

I got them next day due to being only 2 hours from their headquarters.. Wondering if they stock certain parts (small easy to store items) at their HQ and I got lucky with these LED's I ordered.

New wheels came in today! 18x9 +1 offset, with 275/65 Falken Wildpeak at3w. Kind of wishing I had gone for the -12 offset so I could put a set of pocket flares on the truck. But it's to much trouble to get a new set ordered.

I'll have to see how they look, I'm considering doing a motofab 1" or 1.5" level. I don't have the tire size so I won't be doing a full leveling kit anyways.

Nice looking wheels.

You should ceramic coat those.

Easier to keep clean.
