GMC-Brand Tool Box

There is a new [to me] tool box, part number 19170990, that really caught my eye. On gmaccessories.com, it is listed as fitting '14 and '15 model years, but I'm driving an '02. A few questions:

  1. If you own this box, what are your thoughts?
  2. Does anyone know the manufacturer?
  3. Does anyone know where I could find a mounting kit to retrofit it for my truck, if necessary?
  4. Is there a similar box that was designed for my truck?

The other tool boxes listed are manufactured by UWS, so it probably is too, but I couldn't find it on their website. I know it may seem silly to some, but I would really like the GMC logo on the tool box. That's just how I am.

Not silly at all! Us OCD guys have to stick together. I just think it looks more "Professional Grade" :) for it to say GMC on it. I don't know for sure, but I doubt they change the inside parameters of the truck bed very much at all from year to year or even from generation to generation.

This does not belong in the vehicle build section. Moving to appropriate section

Get a Cam Locker... rock solid. Think it costs about $450... cant remember. But Low profile and deep. I wouldn't have a box that covered half the rear window...

I apologize for starting in the wrong area. I wasn't sure where to start since it was a part for new trucks, but going on an older truck, and since it is an accessory... Anyway, I found on another site that the box will fit '07 and newer beds. What changed from the '99-'06 beds that this won't fit? It's a stationary box, so it wouldn't require using the cargo management system, would it? Does anyone think that I would be able to secure it with some Grip Rite mounting blocks? And for the price, it's not difficult to find it for around half of MSRP, even new.
