I at first had a loaded LTZ on order, and had to change my order to the High Country to get the order processed due to factory constraints. I'm glad I did, I LOVE the High Country, and the uniqueness of it. I wanted a Spray in bedliner, Sunroof, and the 6" Chrome Step bars, all that come on the High Country ( sunroof is optional), and on the LTZ I would have to pay extra for the Step bars and bedliner. Plus, the Saddle interior is sharp, ( in my opinion ) along with the High Country wheels.

I specifically chose the High Country because I wanted the Saddle interior. I was going to buy a maxed out truck option-wise anyway, so the High Country just made sense.

However, mine did NOT come with the spray-in bedliner or steps, I had to add them (dealer install).

I got the High Country and Love it! I bought it because it was the only truck I could find at the time with the 6.2…..I suspect I would be equally satisfied with an LTZ……I like the brown interior…..

For those of you that have gotten the high country, is it worth the extra cost? I'm not talking about the 6.2 as it is an option across the board but are the high country specifics worth it over an LTZ or SLT? Planning on either getting an SLT or LTZ soon but have found some good deals on high country's and want to know your review of it?

Everyone's tastes is different as are their needs. I looked at Denalis and High Countrys as well as LTs before I bought my LTZ. The interior of the HC wasn't for me, but some guys love it. I like the grille on the HC. The Denali was really nice. The LTZ I bought has all the stuff the Denali had except for the DIC and painted bumpers. I really feel the chrome bumpers will be way more durable and the LTZ cost several thousand less. I'm happy with my choice, you are probably different. If you're going to spend this much you should get what you want. Sometimes though, I still think about that black Denali.

I don't like the brown interior of 'em.
If it was me, I would get a loaded LTZ or SLT.
Which I'm going to do here maybe within the next year or two.

Two years ago I bought my wife a hard loaded car, all the bells. I found we didn't use the sun roof, I hated the lane departure and adapted cruise, I found I like my Garmin better that what came in the car. When it came time for my truck I really wanted the 6.2. Much to my surprise you had to get the option I didn't want to get it. Then I read the 5.3 0n E 85 gets within 40 HP of the 6.2, and if I wanted to be cheap I still could run regular gas when I couldn't get E 85 while traveling. I was able to land a Texas package OTD for 32K with a hard cover on the bed. The few things I could get it the High Country over the Texas package wasn't worth the 15-20K. Shop hard.

The interior is what drew me towards my High Country, you either love it or hate it. After 5 trucks with charcoal or black interiors I was ready for some change. All I can say is I smile every time I drive this truck.

I love my High Country as well. Don't see many around here... but see a ton of LTZ's in every color available.

When I bought my High Country it was the only trim that had my "need to have" options of rear sliding window, sun roof, nav, and a/c'd seats. There was a constraint on rear sliding windows but High Countries kept them. So for me it was definitely worth it. Plus it has the best looking color interior (subjective).

Phil I have been a Chevy guy until this year. I knew what I wanted to spend and knew I was getting a luxury truck. I feel the high country fell short. For 2014 they only had one option for interior and it looked like crap. Like a purple brownish leather. I went Denali and I'm very pleased. Few more luxury amenities in the GMC like the cluster and what not. Go test drive a Denali before you buy

I wish the High Country got the Denali dash cluster... but that is the one and only thing I like about the Denali over the High Country. All personal preference but I think the GMC's grill is too freakishly big and the fender well trim looks ridiculously out of place, which are two major appearance items that just don't look right when parked next to a High Country.

I looked at the High Country, but felt it was a bit gaudy, especially the headrests. I ended up with an SLT All Terrain. It was more subtle yet still pretty unique. Well, as unique as an option package can get. I still would like to have seen it come with heated and cooled seats though.
