I love 22's. I have factory chrome GM CK919 wheels with Bridgestone tires. Ride great. No shakes or vibration. I put 22's on my last 3 GM trucks.

I have a 2014 SLT CC SB with 5.3 and 3.42 gears. I love the 22" CK158 GM wheels but not sure if thats a good idea. I have 20" now. Will I lose more horse power going to a 285/55/22 tire or should I just order a set of 20" CK158 replicas. I also have a 2.5 level. Edited by l435839

Lug centric vs hub centric......you will rarely have an issue with factory wheels......my lt had 17 stock...sold for 700 bought ltz 20 for 1100.....worth every penny....I love the oem 22's....just doesn't seem like enough sidewall for such a heavy vehicle

I only go aftermarket. After multiple factory wheels with finish issues and GM never standing behind them... I don't think I will ever go down that road again.

92 Firehawk - Clear cracked, yellowed, and peeled... Got left out in the cold

99 Camaro - Chrome peeling

07 TBSS - Brand new truck had a casting defect. Had it replaced with a out of round wheel. Third wheel they got it right then I sold the truck

04 Tahoe Z71 - Again with the finish peeling.

I only run billet wheels on my stuff now and have for a good while. You get what you pay for!

He said, "aftermarket rims look ghetto".

Comments like this are stupid. Saying after-market rims are Ghetto is as stupid as saying big 35" mud tires are Hill Billy. Just buy what you like and don't worry about what others lame opinions.

Quality after-market wheels will work fine for you. My truck came with fairly nice 18" wheels. Once the tires wear out, I will probably be upgrading to 20" after-market (non-chrome) wheels, and wrapping them in some mildly aggressive All Terrains. To me, that's the perfect blend of looks and functionality. I personally could never put 22" wheels on a pickup truck. The selection of 22" All Terrains are limited, I don't want that much flash, and I want more cush to the ride. But to each his own...!!!

I bought a set of 4 from Craigslist lightly used for about $600 just the rims up here where I live in BC Canada. Seems people up here are buying trendy blackout ones and are getting rid of their OEMs cheap. I weighed them with a bathroom scale and they only weighed 28lbs they are 18"x8.5" OE wheels I attached a picture from the Silverado catalogue. After market wheels with the same size they are going to weigh more, I saw some brand name aftermarkets weighing for same size wheel of about 35lbs. I believe the OEM wheels are made well and seem lighter, they may not be as trendy looking but if you go after market really scrutinize them and get the best you can. Just my 2cents.

I’m running the same setup except the 20” polished snowflake wheels. I’m running 305/55/20 BFG Baja Champion tread tires and lost a world of power and MPG. Gonna go down to the 285/55/20 most likely because my pro comp 2.5 level has my ball joints ruined. Gonna take it off. But power wise a 285 shouldn’t steal much power.

I see it as what you like more. With anything I say to always go with a known company. Some style rims look "ghetto", but most rims made for trucks aren't. Plus aftermarket gives you so much more to choose from and you can also look for certain offsets.

I also agree with spurshot, if it weren't for aftermarket rims then we would still be getting steelies with hubcaps or 16" or smaller rims. I personally don't like the big 22s, but more people like them for a daily driver for looks. I'm actually glad my '14 came with 18s and when I get black rims for it I will stick with 18s (partly so I can just get the tires moved to the new rims and also to me it's a happy medium between good sidewall and a good size rim size).

I wish GM offered a nice set of steel wheels besides the WT model, wich is too narrow to run a 12" with tire, I did see a low pro steel rim on the PPV tahoe yesterday, very stought but ugly.   I prefer the 17" alloys on the 2020 T1's, but for 4 wheeling or drag racing 16-15" is ideal , better ride , grip, and lanch on smaller rims,  the 20,21,22" are horrible for ride and handling, cost too much for tires, and easily damaged, they are how you say for the "Ghetto" type personalities who don't know better
