Oil pressure gauge jumping

I started the truck and the oil pressure gauge is jumping between the bottom and middle. The oil pump was replaced because of a similar issue and a oil warning message on the display about 4-5 months ago.

 

This is a 2008 silverado 4x4 5.3 flexfuel.

For starters I would see if you can hook up a mechanical oil pressure gauge to it. That way you can eliminate all electrical input. Since they just changed the oil pump, I would doubt that it is bad again. There is an o-ring that can cause issues by letting air into the system. That could also be the problem, but getting a good reading first if you can by a mechanical can help.

You probably have a bad oil pressure sensor. Its located in the back of the motor by firewall. Don't by a napa part, go with an oem part. Napa sensor cause gauge to jump around.

I replaced mine in mid winter and now it jumps around, it will go to 0 on a slight incline by my house after I first start it up in the morning. I see now its because I got it from napa.
