Has anyone noticed that the hood on the 2016 Silverado 1500 pools water on the hood? I contacted Chevy. They suggested that I also contact local dealer who claims that no one else has mentioned this problem.

Depends on how level the ground is. I'll agree, it doesn't take much slope AT ALL for it to turn into a micro bus roof. Or a VW portable pool depending on your preference.

I guess it holds some water, until you drive away then it's gone...??

Lol, exactly why I called the new hoods bird baths when I saw them.

Is it really that big of a deal that you get water on your hood? I had to chuckle when I read this.

Not the liquid water that concerns me. It's the flying ice chunks once the hood heats up. I notice the GMC terrain hoods hold a cup or two of water also if parked on a hill.

Yeah, looks ok...good...whatever...to some, but kind of a goofy design. My driveway has a slight downward slope, and I like to back the truck into the driveway and might get a small amount of water that holds on. If I level the front end no doubt I'll have a bird bath.

Humph...

Edit in;;; Think I'll just drill a couple of drain holes in the hood. Good idea?

I noticed this the first time it rained after I got it. Once you start to drive and hit the brakes it rolls off the front. I could see the ice being an issue, having a nice amount of ice built up on the hood, but not enough to be a problem.
