Awesome thread everyone. I've noticed it is a little difficult to see backing up at night now with windows tinted. This will help alot!

You won’t be disappointed!! Dremel / Solder / and Patience and it can all be down in a couple of hours!

Any questions or concerns don’t be hesitant to ask!

I've been disappointed with the lack of illumination of my reverse lights for awhile and I'm glad I stumbled on this thread.  I just ordered a pair of the Rigid Ignites today.

If anyone is looking to buy a set of these, northridge4x4.com has them listed for $98.79.  The price seemed too good to be true since most places are selling them for $123, so I called customer support and they confirmed the price.  I also signed up for a first time buyers coupon code online which saved me an additional $5, bringing my total to $93.79 with free shipping.

After being on back order for awhile, I finally got my Rigid Ignites and installed them last week...... best upgrade to my truck so far!

I found the 1.75” hole saw worked best to cut out the step and I managed to use the supplied stop nuts (although the top one is a PIA) to mount the lights with the help of a friend.  I used a 14-16ga blue Posi-Tap into the white wire w/ the green stripe from the trailer harness for power.  I did tie both positive wires from the lights together and then used a butt connector to extend the length with an 18ga wire because the wires coming from the right light didn’t have much slack.  I then inserted the 18ga wire into the Posi-Tap and tightened the connector.

I did the same with the ground wires, tied them together and extended the length with a butt connector and some 18ga wire with a ring terminal connected to the other end.  Without doing this, I wouldn’t be able to reach the factory ground connection with wire from the right light.  I then loosened he factory bolt attached to the ground on the frame (this was located just forward of the trailer harness) and attached the ring connector.

I just did the same mod 2 days ago. I ended up putting it on a 3 way switch. On with reverse, off, On whenever I want.10340fcb15e325223cb03d114e68be20.jpg

Can you better explain/share the 3 way switch: type, placement, wire taps......I want to the same choices (Reverse/On/Off) for backing up the boat and whatnot. I was thinking of pulling power from battery into cab for on/off position and using trailer connection for reverse selection. Curious how you made it all happen

New to this forum. I just bought a 2017 silverado 1500 and was thinking about doing this to rear bumper. Any place out there with a decent price on these lights? Does it have to be installed by a rigid dealer for it to be covered under warranty?

Thanks guys. I see that amazon has them for 105$. For the rigid lifetime warranty does amazon work under that as a dealer? Do the lights come with a template for mounting? What size hole saw is needed?

While the Rigids are great if money is tight why not go with some of these?:

https://www.oznium.com/led-bolt

I put them in my bumper steps facing down just to light up the step (not as reverse lights) but they are plenty bright and work great!

I ordered 4 of these with lenses, and two of the lenses fell off before I even got a chance to install them. YMMV.

did you contact oznium's customer service?  from what i've read they will likely just send you replacement bolt LEDs

i've bought a bunch of stuff from them and been very happy with everything.

    • So you're saying toss the baby out with the bathwater? @txab posted article was her take on how AI can be used to manipulate pricing as it already does and has been rebuked by the judiciasry in housing. How AI can be and is used to maximize refinery or even Amazon operations all of which are true but because she is who she is; that makes what she says about what is true, false? Is that something akin to Pre-justice aka prejudice?    Look, I'm first in line to approach all information with caution just because we live in a world where people like to lie about someone or something with such a straight face and in such volume that it makes digging to the truth wearisome. Meaning I understand the skepticisms but if I were to toss out everything a person is for a view they hold then my pool of people to draw wisdom from would be non-existent and I'd be forced to reinvent the wheel daily. Not practical.    "Be innocent as a dove but as cautious as a serpent."    Test each word. Every good lie is part truth or no one would believe it. Find the truth in it and reject what isn't.    On this one, AI is being used to do what has been done by hand for hundreds of years already but at such speed, the point of a computer, that it is more easily monetized. This one wasn't that hard a lift.    I wrote a few formulas in a Lotus 123 program decades ago, a series of linked Macros actually, that allowed a daily inventory to be turned into a running P&L and production plan. Something that took three departments a week to assemble now took the time it takes to input the 'daily changes' in inventory. Later that was ungraded to the more powerful Excel program an and integrated with bar code scanning, inventory to supply was done once per shift. It had a huge impact on production scheduling, Seamless interruption flexibility, inventory error reduction, raw materials cost effective utilization and scrap reduction. Huge improvement in the bottom line. I spent months on that and AI could have done it in minutes. So yes, it not only can be used, they would be foolish to not try. The legality, ethics and morality are not the domain of AI. Humans need to keep a reign on it.
    • New to this forum.  Also looking to tune a 6L80 and trying to work out all the issues in my transmission swap.  I have a 6.2 diesel (1983) and have removed the TH-400 and about to put in a 6L80 with a TCM-2600 interface and don't have a clue what I doing after that.  Did you (Leatherneck/RAV3) get your slip resolved? I too hate to spend that kind of money on a tuner that hopefully I will not need too many times although from what steelerdude15 added about the HP Tuner being great for diagnostics would be a plus.  I am also from WNC but below you in Columbus.  Any helo would be greatly appreciated.
