Regardless your screwed... The on board computes now loop count and gm know how many times it's been programmed .

When it comes back even one count higher then their records they will deny the warranty on the truck for good.

They even know if a code reset has been done but I haven't seen them do anything about that yet.

Someone didn't wait any time before flooring it after the "Break in" period

Regardless, I'm going to take a seat in the stands where "It's your truck, use it how you want."

Absolutely. He bought it. He can do as he likes. Speak as he wishes. No one can stop him. No one will help him either.

I’m still trying to find out if the tranny speaks Spanish or French??? (Central America or Canada)

Really doesn't matter at this point what language your trans speak does it.

Any Mfr. can make a lemon. At least yours was obvious from the start.

If you have any problems with satisfaction, contact the National Better Business Bureau. Don't bother with the manufacturer.

I have gotten 2 vehicles replaced with chronic issues without any arguing or crazy blood pressure. You still have to get a Chevy, but odds are it will not be a lemon.

There are a few rules, but they are quite fair to all parties concerned.

I still drive a Chevy. I just like them better.

Good Luck.

Sounds like they've upgraded the driveshafts at least.  Didn't they use to blow up over 105mph or so?

Yes, this year model has a one piece aluminum driveshaft. The dealer suspects an imbalance in the driveshaft or perhaps a defective torque converter or perhaps both. The rear seal popped out as a result of either vibration or high oil pressure in the trans. Further technical exploration is happening. What ever it is, it was present from delivery but took several hundred miles to manifest itself to something noticeable. I may have tried to self diagnose longer than I should have but the dealership was closed over the weekend when all the issues came to a head.  More time will tell. It can be repaired but I am interested if anyone else ever had this issue and if so how was it resolved.

That's why we all have warranty to cover powertrain issues as this,! but as soon as you tune you compromised your coverage.

Don't get me wrong I love a properly tuned chevy, I certainly wouldn't blame GM because I need to go 140 and your trans shits the bed, if your gona play you got to pay.

There is no reason to get BBB involved they will do f all for you

So what you're telling me is that your truck worked great.  You then put a tune on it and at 99 mph you noticed vibration.  You decided to keep accelerating until there was (and I quote) " loud sound that filled the cabin and a vibration that felt like the drivetrain was about to fly apart".

You again, thought it was a good idea to just keep accelerating.

I am sorry but that sounds like a whole lot of stupid.

It took me several seconds to determine it was indeed the truck. When I did I immediately slowed down and from there it developed into a vibration at lower speeds. Stupid is an inappropriate descriptor. Surprised, shocked and stumped as to the cause would be more accurate and less derogatory. Surprised that the brand new truck had an issue like that, and shocked that it was hidden behind the speed limiter. I now know that was incorrect. The problem would have continued to develop and show itself at lower speeds as the mechanical issue got worse.

You probably came close to fragging the driveshaft...

Your '76 also has decent paint (probably lead based), doesn't get over 20 mpg and wouldn't pass EPA standards.  It is not completely the manufacturers fault, look at the nanny state as well.

If you really were looking for advice or similar experiences you should have left out the Chevy is stupid and weak, Ford is better BS.  People read that and just assume you are being a troll for the sake of being a troll.  Perhaps create a new account a try over, I doubt anyone is going to take you seriously on this one.

That is what is wrong with our country now. Everyone wearing their feelings on their sleeve and shutting down at the slightest bit of dissent. I really don’t care what the other members think of me or of Ford, Ram, etc. They can think what they like. Only GM vehicles have the seat features I need for my disabilities and yes I was pissed that a brand new truck broke so easily. I have driven emergency vehicles of all makes and they can really take a beating and still be fine. They are essentially the same as civilian vehicles but have better cooling, and better brakes. Sometimes better shocks and suspensions. Interestingly most civilian versions of emergency vehicles accelerate faster and get better fuel economy..My truck is being repaired as I type this with new parts. Hopefully this will restore the ruggedness of this truck and there will be no more problems. At nearly 57, and retired, I don’t drive nearly as much or as hard as I used to.

If the trans could speak, it’d probably say “Here’s your sign!”

delivery can be a bitch.. ever watch those guys on their deadlines filling trucks? or even train cars...

my dad has a 2016, turning out to be very nice.. very powerful, balanced.

the auto trans is the best we have ever had our throttle foot at.

being he is 66, I am 45.. that is alot of automatic years gone by.

I drive like a nut to the V.A. as well.. not for me, although I am a disabled veteran, it is for my neighbor who was in the viet nam.

I had no limiter at all on my 96.. I stepped up everything I could. tires are letter S load range E..

I am glad to have my limiter back to 105 or so.

My neighbor is fast asleep in this clip.. I casually went over 100 to get by the subaru..and to the appointment..

I just saw his new wheel chair the other day.. well worth the fast ride.

getting to the point, the camera wiggles on its cheap mount whenever there is a bump or out of balance.

this 96 is like a rock.

366k miles.

If you could find a way to argue a warranty, i hope you can.
