Hey guys,

Does anyone know if I need all 3 of these wires or do any of them exist in the truck already?

Mine is A 2018 with Android Auto/Apple Carplay and I don't want to order the wires if I don't need to.

Thanks!!

If you get on harnessdr.com it will tell you what you need. I believe you just need 2 of the cables if I remember correctly when I did my 18. Plus the conversion harness.

I've emailed and replied to one of his YouTube videos and never heard back. (I'm sure I just missed it)

As an aside, the answer is:

You need two USB wires in addition to the harness to make it all work. (Either from HarnessDr or Amazon)

The black wire that's plugged into the HMI when you get started runs under the jump seat you remove, so it doesn't work for the full center console. (the connector is different on the console side) You unplug that black wire at the HMI and use a stand alone USB wire to go from the HMI to the back of the dual ports located at the far left side of the new console.

The USB wire to replace the existing Black connection behind the glovebox is part numer 19119050 and came back as discontinued by GM when I tried to actually order it. I found one for 28 bucks shipped on ebay, but god only knows how long they'll be available in the future.

You also need that second USB wire that goes from the output port that connects the front data feed to the ones inside the console itself, under the giant lid. (it goes from the left-side USB-C port to the brown connector inside the console itsef.)

Once you do that, you're all set.

Hopefully this clarifies a few things rooks like me don't know or, speaking directly to myself here: aren't such potatoes that we completely miss that HarnessDr said "you don't reuse this black wire" in his video. LOL!!!

Thanks again, gang!!

I couldn't get the 4 main mounting bolts to tighten all the way. Anyone else have this issue?

They'd tighten and then be loose again, like stripping out. All 4 of them.
