I have a 2015 LTZ Tahoe that I want to add AA to the unit.  I will check to see which HMI and Radio modules I have in the next couple of days, but as of now I know that I have the ability for the radio to read my texts back to me, though I'm not sure that narrows down either of my modules at this point.

I am interested in doing this upgrade, but I would like to keep my Sirius XM.  Will this affect the ability to keep my Sirius subscription?

Out of curiosity, what is needed to get the cluster to recognize siri on a 14-15 that was retrofitted.  That has been the one thing that has been bugging me since I completed mine.

You’ll need to transfer the service to the new radio id but that’s no big deal. You can email us to verify module fitment.

Cluster retrofit with custom programming.

Not do disparage anyone (and its probably going to come off that way my apologies) but why would you send these to Canada when we program more HMI's than likely any company on earth other than say Bosch or GM service LOL Heck half the companies that advertise this service we do their programming for them and have been doing so since 2012 (for 2013MY CUE).

We also offer THE source for real unlocking programming: video in motion, nav entry in motion, front or rear camera in motion, adding texting to 2014's (early 2015's as well) , custom color color/theme changes, custom radio tuner maps, chime lowering/deletion etc; ALL from the factory unit(s) no aftermarket junk. Also we offer things like 2019 Maps for half of what GM charges, updates to the latest OS etc.

The BIG one for this conversion is we are also THE source for custom cluster retrofit programming so you can ACTUALLY USE the steering wheel controls for Siri! (and all the other missing functions). Something you can't do if you simply slap the modules in (more often than not with mismatched MOST bus revisions and software).

And....to boot we're a real licensed tax paying insured company LOL

And just who is it you are//work for?

Thats what i figured, so pretty pricey I assume? Is it

possible to do a later Denali or Tahoe cluster in blue with this programming?

Indeed! A specific cocktail of parts and programming but very doable.

Among other companies we supply yes.

Good. I know who not to give money to. Pitching your companies stuff is one thing. Acting like an arrogant jackass is another.

One more question about the swap.  Will I be able to mirror my phone to the head unit, or will this only allow the addition of AA/ACP?

This is purely for AA/CP. There are some aftermarket modules that hijack the display that are out there but really depends on what you're looking for (some jailbroken iPhones have a version of CarPlay that can mirror more apps etc).

Thanks for the reply.  I'm not sure that I'm in love enough with AA (I have a Samsung S8) to want to upgrade.  If there are other apps that I can add to the car then I might be more interested.  I do like the fact that it allows the car to use my hotspot from my phone.

There are other things you can take advantage of with the AA/CP spec hardware if you choose. We offer an unlock service that truly unlocks the module and allows for video in motion from USB (or from DVD/BluRay if you have it) Rear camera in motion (with the ability to add in a front camera using the same input etc) nav entry in motion etc. It's not for everyone and if none of these pique your interest maybe this isnt a good upgrade for you as its not exactly cheap sadly.

The additional "apps" from GM are restricted from their back end through a myriad of different levels (not going to disclose all of them here) but sadly its likely apps on a non 2017+ from GM isnt going to be a thing.

The only real reason I'm considering it is so I can have Google Maps or maybe Waze in the future on the head unit instead of having to look at my phone to see the map. I have a nav unit now and I would be willing to downgrade to save the money going to IO5 to essentially pay for the whole swap. I hate the GM nav interface with a passion so I never use it.

    • Well one of our most reliable vehicles was sold yesterday. The first and only I gave for free to a grandkid. If they got skin in the game they take care of it. My wife bought new. Five years later my daughter got it to use. We got it back and gave it to our grandson after graduation. He did zero maintenance just oil changes. When the AC quit he drove his mother’s car rather than get it fixed. Instead he just bought a beater and sold the Elantra.
    • I usually do as well or better than the sticker for mileage. Usually better going west than east. North then South. Wind makes a difference. I’m not usually a conspiracy theorist. But it did dawn on me I’m going by the vehicle calculation. Now that would be interesting.

    • What’s missing in all this is patience and investment in the future. Buy a 170K starter home. Ten years later sell it invest in a more expensive home. Eventually you’ll have a 600K home and pay starter home payments. Buy a starter car. Maintain it well. Save the payments after it’s payed for then buy an expensive car if you desire. Buy a tumbler make your own coffee, pack your lunch. Cook your own dinner. Most importantly take care of your car.
    • People mislead themselves. Statistics are highly useful indicators.   Here's the tie-in to this thread. If an oil sample tests shows a wear indicator of 7 using cheaper ACDelco oil, and a wear indicator of 2 (lower = less wear) using a particular brand of Mobil oil, and wear has a linear relationship with engine lifespan, anyone could assume that Mobil is reducing wear by more than 50% (let's just say a 200% reduction for you red state people trying hard to do math) which leads to increasing engine life by 2x. Perhaps, in a vacuum, by itself, when dreamed by AI.   Yeah?! That's what the statistic is saying, isn't it?   No, it isn't. It didn't come out and say engine life is doubled. That's a very bad assumption, and a case of severe myopia by assuming something potentially untrue about the only data point in focus.   Average cost of a new car is 50k. You bet it is.   The median cost of a new car is more like 35k. Expensive cars are skewing the perception that "average" now means a $50k price of entry for a very average automobile. And that's not true. People who don't understand statistics twist the living heck out of them to mean all sorts of things they don't actually mean.   "Average" new car payment is $1000/month. Yep, it is. And in that number are all the $35k new car buyers who bring significant equity, and the $25k new car buyers who finance the car for a month just to get a rebate, and then pay it off. Know what isn't in that number? All the payments made by people who don't finance a car.   Picking one's own data point (don't have a car payment, never paid $50k for a new vehicle, my house cost $170k, I afforded a middle class lifestyle on $4.50/hr) is just a data point. Just like earning $25/hr in an area where the median home price is almost $1 Million is a data point. In fact, it's a lot of data points given that 80% of the US population lives in/around major cities. They're not idiots; the vast majority of them do it to make a living because that's where the big money is.   The highs have become higher, lows have become lower, and how your personal mileage varies is not truth for an entire country. At the same time you can't NOT acknowledge the data. While it doesn't paint YOUR personal picture, it certainly tints the reality that you also live in, as does your single data point.
