I have the same issues as everyone else, but I was wondering during our TOTAL SYSTEM BRAKE FAILURE events, did anybody try pressing the emergency brake button?

Yes once I got through the intersection of knew I wasn’t going to get killed by that big van I pushed it and pushed it and pushed it and it absolutely did nothing I don’t believe it can work on the vehicle is in motion but then again with the recalls and all the problems it’s probably associated to it as wellYes once I got through the intersection of knew I wasn’t going to get killed by that big van I pushed it and pushed it and pushed it and it absolutely did nothing I don’t believe it can work on the vehicle is in motion but then again with the recalls and all the problems it’s probably associated to it as well

I had the latest recalls done.  Anyone else's lane keep assist go nutz afterwards?  Dealer said that they had two others with the same issue.  At least my brakes work... for now...

Yep, but mine was the parking assist that went insane this morning. The button would not light up when turned on. Then later it went on, but would not go off when pressing the button. Then the camera started coming on while I was driving at about 45 mph. then that went off. I got butt-buzzed constantly for no reason at all. OMG. A whole bunch of bad things going on with the truck. I want my Honda ridgeline back.

After reading this entire thread, I feel really bad for all the hell people have gone through before real fixes started to surface.  Just to add to the pile, for what it's worth:

- Dec 9, 2019, purchased 2019 1500 AT4. Had zero issues.

- Jan 3, 2020 brought into dealer because OnStar told me there was the ABS recall. Dealer did: N192268090.

- right after the update, saw all the symptoms described in this thread, loss of brakes, codes, etc, mostly when using the app.

- cleared the codes I could, avoided using the app.

- Feb 2, 2020, after reading this thread, and seeing the latest PIT, showed the dealer, they performed: PIT5728C

Got the truck back, all the codes are clear, no problems to report so far. I can use the FOB or the APP without any noticeable consequence.  Crossing my fingers.

Gotta love the fact that you have to cross your fingers and hope that a brake failure doesn't happen.

I just bought a 2020 rst Z71 6 days ago. Still on first tank of gas and truck went crazy this morning. Service ESC,  brake light, engine light flashing, traction control light, ran really rough and shaky, on star email stating emissions system issue. Unbelievable!! I was very close to dealership so I brought it in immediately. Service writer looks up history and it was already in for a misfire in cylinder 8 but could not duplicate! This is a brand new truck! It had 100 miles on it when I bought it so I’m wondering if someone at the dealership was going to drive it but discovered it had a problem, had it looked at and they decided to just put it on the lot where unsuspecting me could buy it?! Seriously unbelievable. Can’t wait to hear what they say next week after they look at it...

I may soon be another casualty in this unfolding drama.  I have been watching this thread for about 2 weeks now and just waiting for the inevitable.  I have a 19 Silverado RST with less than 2600 miles.  A few days ago I received a message on my touchscreen that an update is available but just ignored it several times by turning my radio off when getting out of the truck.  Yesterday, with some reservation, I finally allowed the download.  This morning when I started my truck the dreaded "break system failure; 62 mph" etc. message flashed on the dash screen for about a second and then went away.  I ended up driving to work, the store, and back home today with no other occurrences the rest of the day.  Luckily for me this was just a scare with no repercussions right now but I bet this isn't the last time I will see that brake failure message and doubt I will be so lucky the next time it pops up.  Doesn't seem to me that its just a coincidence that it happened on the first engine start since I accepted that infotainment download.   Just thought I would share my experience.  Its very beneficial to hear input from others with similar issues.

You should take it into your dealer ASAP and have them scan for errors. My truck is still sitting at the dealership because I took it back to them after the PIT5728B for a scan just to be safe and surprise! Error codes on my brake module.

Good call!  Shortly after I submitted my post I received a recall notice for N192268091.  I gotta say, after reading through this thread the last few weeks, I'm dreading taking the truck in.

If you look back in the forums, the infotainment update is unrelated to the brake issue. It’s the programming of the bcm software done by the dealer. Regardless, sorry you have this issue. It’s a bummer for all of us.

Has anyone had the issue again since the having new recall came out on ~January 27th 2020? I never had an issue and use the app to start my truck usually once a day at minimum. I had my 2019 Silverado LTZ in for its first oil change in early December and they performed 3 or 4 recalls. This morning I remote started my truck through the app and when I got in it lit up like a Christmas tree with all the brake system failure notifications. I keep up on the forums and immediately knew this was an issue from the previous recalls but saw that they just issued a new one and wanted to see if anyone has luck with the new one.

My biggest question is has anyone had the NEWEST update, the one just released a little over a week ago to verify if it works. I understand everyone that’s had it happen to them is angry and skeptical but I’d rather not speculate if this new one will work. Thankfully I’ve never had it happen to me driving, but it did happen today just starting the truck up. But it’s exactly what the new recall states saying that it would happen after remote start using the app, which is exactly what I did. I’m just curious for people that have had the new recall performed.
