Thank you all for the help. I have tried 3 ohm resistors,  1 ohm resistors and .5 ohm resistors with no luck. The only change when adding these were reduced brightness in the hyperflashing blinkers.  I am out of options and am probably going to end up selling the morimotos and getting some recon tail lights painted to get the look I want.  Again, thank you all for the suggestions .

If your looking to sell the morimotos, how much are you wanting?

Don’t forget the option to flash the BCM to disable the bulb out indicator.

Ill be having it done pretty soon.

So if you have this done, you can run LED's without the hyperflash?  Does it screw up if you have regular incandescent bulbs in?

I'm taking my truck in Friday for service and I've thought about having this done, just wasn't sure what all it entailed.

If you don't mind, what's the dealer charging you to do this?

Dealer I bought the truck from said $175.

It disables the bulb out warning system (which is hyperflash). So the BCM no longer looks for a specific load on the circuit. So afterwards you could run whatever you want.

Call and ask them what theyll charge you. I’m curious. I’ve read $50 online before. I’d like that price better.

When I get a chance to call and talk to him at the dealership I'll let you know what he quotes me.  I think their hourly is $120, he cut that in half for me once in my 2014 when I was trying to add carplay because he was curious to see if what I was doing would work too.

Hell, I’m good for an hours labor haha

i talked to 2 other dealers and they never called me back with a price.

I'd definitely rather pay him $120 and keep everything OEM than go hacking harnesses adding resistors and stuff.

Any word if this BCM reflash will work? Running the Morimoto tails in my truck and still occasionally getting the hyperflash every once in a while. If flashing the BCM to disable the hyperflash is actually possible, I'm totally doing it.

I just dropped off my truck for this BCM flash. So we will see.....

I had some body shop stuff on there too, so probably be late this week before I get it back.

I'm fully expecting a "Oh yea, we couldn't do it like i thought" type of deal.

Any luck with it afterwards!?

Picked it up yesterday. With a giant scratch on my tail gate!!

They said in the end, they could not do it like they thought. Went from $175 to $300 to nothing. I’ll be adding resistors I guess.

Damn, i have the morimoto tails in my LT. Even with the resistors built in they still tend to hyperflash quite a bit and it's really annoying lol.

i just installed mine on my LT as well and am running into these issues as well, half the time they are fine then out of nowhere my right turn signal is hyper flashing, but my left side has given me no problems in the past few days of ownership.

    • It wouldn’t have happened if the government hadn’t mandated outrageous fuel mileage standards. It does very little for the consumer. It adds cost. Back during Covid there was a chip shortage. They gave a rebate for your truck if it didn’t have the chip to turn on cylinder deactivation. It was 50$ because at best you may see 1/2 a mile increase per gallon. Splitting hairs each fuel mileage trick wasn’t mandated. The government doesn’t do the engineering work and say use this until it’s already in use and they like it. The fuel mileage was mandated. And those add ons the results. There’s a mandate and they are the results.
    • It was never mandated.  Ever.    Automakers were incentivized to install it by getting CAFE credits to help with their vehicle fleet fuel economy scores.  They were being handed money/CAFE credits to install it.  Which is NOT a mandate.       The current admin removed the incentives that were behind them installing it.
    • Are you playing Slide Down endlessly but your score is still low? Are you constantly crashing into obstacles as the game speed increases? Don't worry, this article will share 5 invaluable tips to help you master the race and impress your friends. Golden Rules 1. Look one step further. The mistake of 90% of new players is only staring at their character. The secret of experts is to look towards the top of the screen (where the slide is about to appear). This gives your brain an extra 0.5 - 1 second to process the situation and determine the direction of movement before the obstacle approaches. 2. Use gentle movements; don't swipe too hard. Slide Down is very sensitive. Moving your finger too forcefully or with excessive amplitude will cause your character to be thrown off course or crash into a wall. Practise moving your finger with small, decisive, and precise movements. 3. Don't be greedy for gold in dangerous locations. Gold coins are tempting for buying skins, but life is more important. If you see a gold coin right on the edge of a cliff or next to a spike trap, ignore it. Our goal is a High Score, and your score only increases if you survive. 4. Make the most of Power-ups. During the slide, you'll encounter items like Magnets (attract gold) or Shields (temporary invincibility). Never miss them! Especially the Shield, it's your "get out of jail free card" to help you get through those deadly fast sections. 5. Stay calm when speed peaks. When your score exceeds 500 or 1000, the game speed will be very fast. At this point, don't try to think logically; let your natural reflexes work. Take deep breaths and don't panic. Apply these 5 tips to your next game, and your leaderboard will surely improve dramatically. Good luck climbing the Slide Down leaderboard!
