2 New recalls

I have a service appointment tomorrow to address these two items plus the seat belt pretensioner. Based on the responses here though, I’m kinda leaning towards canceling the appointment and waiting a little longer.

Same boat, have an appointment tomorrow for them, now I’m hesitant to go

What gets me is I had the recalls done but my Chevy app still shows that they need attention.  It amazes me that with today's systems that they can't talk to each other.  Once it is cleared in the system it should update all platforms.

Had all three recalls and my rear window addressed this week.  Picked up the truck today and the lane keep / forward collision system has stopped working.  Now another visit needed..... going to see if I can request to have the front camera recalibrated.

Don’t get the brake recall/flash. Mine was done yesterday...truck worked great before they did it. As soon as I get home on the next start up all the brake warnings and messages pop-up and lost the brake assist. Shut it off and restarted after 10mins and the brakes are working but CEL stayed on. Took it back to the dealer this morning....after three hours they called GM..software issue and no fix available right now.

@TLDLTD I had the same issue. Truck serviced on a Friday morning for the recall & come Monday morning my dashboard lit up. No prior issues. I ended up driving for another two days with the check engine light on. 

 

I just picked up my truck from service today & they ended up replacing the entire assembly associated with the braking system. Turns out the ZF IBC assembly has multiple modules that control everything braking related: ABS, brake wear, stability/ traction control, etc. The specific codes on my truck indicated an issue with a rear wheel brake wear sensor issue. They checked all of the wiring & the issue came back to a module on the assembly. They had issues troubleshooting it & ended up replacing the entire assembly.

 

This explains why I was able to continue driving the truck for hundreds of miles, even after the initial fault. If any one of the individual systems that this assembly control faults, then they have to replace the entire assembly. The engineers at GM have not given the dealerships a way to service the individual modules on the assembly yet. 

 

The truck went in on Tuesday afternoon, they overnighted the part, and performed the work this morning. The assembly is accessed through the driver side wheel well. 

 

Brake by wire may be unavoidable for us as consumers. But, I would not own one of these trucks without a warranty, as parts and labor would easily make this a $1500-$2000 repair. That said, I'm happy to have my truck back.

No I decided to wait since my truck is driving fine and others have said the recall caused software issues for them.

Crazy that the recall is causing the problems. Although my dealer said the recall is unrelated - time for a new dealer.

It definitely looks like the Recall which reprograms the Front Windshield Camera causes some vehicles to disable the Front Camera which will affect the Intellibeam Op, Lane Change and Departure Ops and Forward Collision Alert Op. The Camera must be placed in Re Learn by the GM Tech to get these Safety Features enabled. If the Tech digs deep enough, they will find the Codes that will lead them to perform the ReLearn Process.

I’ve got an appointment on 12/26, but after reading everything here, I think I’m going to cancel and address it again in January.

They should be able to complete the recalls. I am having (4) done today. 2 of which are the alternator cable and brake software. Not sure why they are saying the 27th [emoji2373]
