Dealer Invoice Price

Hello everyone,

How or where is it possible to find out what the dealer paid for a truck? I'm about to start looking to buy a new GMC or Silverado 2013 truck and wanted to get the best price. I will pay cash so will this help my negotiating? I will want to order if they dont have exactly what I want. Will ordering help negotiating since the dealer won't have to hold the vehicle and can flip it right away?

Thanks

Trust me that will be a very well kept secret on pricing unless a dealer wants to chime in.I doubt one will.My Girlfreind and I have 2 new silverado 4 wheel drives. One is a Lt with a 5.3 and the other is a LT Z71 with a 6.2.If I bought over again I would only buy the 6.2 .6.2 has way more power and does a little better on fuel than the 5.3 driving at 100kph.Tows way better also.40,000k on each and not any trouble with any thing. The neighbor bought a 5.3 and one month later he is driving 6.2.

Ask to see the dealer invoice. You have to understand how to read. Its not the price the dealer paid for it persay.

I went to several dealers at the end of Dec. trying to see what I could get. GM has a program where they are aiding the trade with approximately $2,000. The down side is you cannot get that money if you are not trading anything in. Was quoted $32,340 on a truck the dealer had listed for $30,340 on their site. Walked away as was not going to pay that premium.

Also noticed after Jan 1 when the discounts changed a dealer was offering a top it off program for the GM card & a few others were not.

Something else that would be good to know is when the cut off for ordering the current trucks will be. I know they keep X amount in the pipeline & thinking they brought inventory down in Dec. closer to where they were wanting it.

Inventory seems about the same here, and rebates look higher than I remember in a long while for this time of year (considering the trade-in incentives). I really like my current gen Sierra, so I'm considering looking at 13's before prices get jacked up on the new ones. No hurry, and no good reason to change... other than I think that I'd prefer a 6-spd for towing our camper. I prefer the 4-spd for daily driving, but it's geared a little off for a 7000 lb (loaded weight) camper. I doubt that I'll do anything now, but it's fun to look.

I would think at some point between April & mid summer when the 14's release the deals should be good IF you can live with what is available at that point. Pricing on trucks is getting insane & will only get worse. Half tons loaded up pushing or nearing $55,000 should NOT even be conceivable.

Saw a 2013 F150 Lariat super cab the other day. It had leather buckets console & what not in a 2wd for $42+ thousand flippin' dollars. :nonod:

Agree completely. I'd have a hard time paying that much for a 2500HD diesel. My FIL bought his '06 Dmax crew SLE w/ leather split bench and a few other things for ~37k... brand new in 2006. Needless to say, he did really well on that decision.

I just bought my 2013 using the GM Employee Family program, it stickered for 37,800 and I got it for 26,400 plus TTL. I also traded in a GM product.

mine stickered at slightly over 40 n was reduced to 24,995 (plus tax and frieght. I also paid for diamond coat and extended warantee)

I thought it was stickered way too high for a 4.8 ext cab, cloth int.

Especially up here ( aka Canada). Why do you think they offer such stupid huge rebates....... it's a gimmick. I mean they could just list price the truck at what it's worth but no..... it looks better when you jack it sky high and then drop $10 grand or more off the price to sell it...... Makes the customer feel like he got some steal of a deal when really you just paid fair market value for it. But hey..... if the odd retard pays around $40K for a cloth interior 4.8 truck...... good on GM and dealer.

I believe it also has to do with financing aswell.

Not really...... You finance how much you pay for the truck including fees, interest and tax...... not off the principal window sticker amount. Of course taxes and fees are could be tacked on before the rebate amount but not always. It just gets people in the door thinking they are winning the truck lottery so they buy, buy, buy and brag about the awesome "deal" they got....... Then they just negotiate the monthly payment on their rockstar lifted diesel they will pay for on for the next 7 years that they can't afford ( like most of the province of Alberta).

Not that I care as I don't finance vehicles.
