Hey sir did you ever get your HID lights put on?

Blasting up I37 and I35 to Austin for F1 races they made a -ell of a difference.

Well worth the money spent

I installed them last week with no issues. Did not post pics because there are many before/after pics out there already. They are much righter than stock and make a big difference. Very happy with the kit. I did mount the relay harness on the driver's side where there was more room on the firewall and open incase there is ever a need to troubleshoot. Did not want it hiding behind the intake. Just had to extend the power cable to the battery a little.

Bass mechanic,

Did you use the hub centric ring on the fxr projector? I was attempting the retrofit today and the projector was not sitting very well

So being lazy and not going through all 55 pages, has anybody actually done a retrofit on these new headlights or is this really an HID thread?

Did you read the first page? There's retrofits there for the Silverado. Also Bass Mechanic did a retrofit for his Sierra. Not sure which page.

Yeah, guess I should re-phrase...I meant like a custom retrofit, not just un-bolting and bolting in a new projector. More like taking stock non-projector lights and actually retrofitting projectors and custom painting houses etc.

Oh. Nope, most ppl In that boat seem to just get the Anzo headlights and are happy with that.

Gotcha...been floating around the idea of a custom retrofit and was looking for a few ideas...have found a few on google searches but just thought I'd try this thread too.

Thanks for saving me reading 55 pages lol

No I was careful in how I placed my holes and how far I tightened each screw so that the projector was in the center. It may be possible to make some small brackets or mounting tabs that would allow some adjustment if you felt you needed it

So I just finished my projector retrofit on my 14' Sierra. FXR 3.0, 55W 5000K Morimoto setup from TRS. I used the "rear entry" method that was pioneered by Bass Mechanic, I think. It went pretty well. Taking apart the front end of my truck kinda sucked. The first light took about 4 hours and was pretty stressful , the second took about 1.5hrs. Very happy with the results. The harness that they sold me had the stock input inverted( black to red, red to black). I got a loud relay buzz on my test before install. I swapped the stock input plug( red to red, black to black) and that fixed it. Thanks to all the people on here for the info to do this on my own (First DIY retrofit).attachicon.gifIMG_1907-1.JPG

Good work man. So you put these in from the rear eh? How exactly did you go about securing the FXR to the mounting bracket? Did you get it to sit flush with the front of that bracket or is there a gap on the front side of the projectors? Looks nice and level. Bring that driver side up till the top of the cut off lines up with the other side. You don't want to see two steps;)

10-22 diode is if you want the fogs on with the running lights. Like the picture says they can't be turned off.

10-18 diode will give you fogs on when the high beams are activated but will also give you the option to turn them on and off with the OEM fog switch.

What diode did y'all use for this? 12V - 1W?

Just got my DDM 5000K kit in, will post an update after. Also ordered the adapter above for my fog lights as well. Haven't gotten down there yet but I would assume I'm going to have the same issue.

I just blew up one of my error cancelers doing a test run. How do i know if i have it plugged in properly I kinda don't want to mess this up again cause my kit took 15 days to come in

which kit is it? 55W or 35W? The 55W kit draws too much power for the error cancelors and will blow them everytime. Happened to me twice. Then I gave up on the error cancelers and everything has been working fine without them. Have had them in since the beginning of May
