I hope you are wrong too. I have my 2015 order in now. I think there was a post somewhere on here about how the 2015 Heavy-Duty's had a vibration/shake issues.....but that was only one rogue post. I believe.

Well, I've sort of fixed my 2014 Chevy Viberado LT with the 5.3 EcoTick engine. I put the "V" back on for Vibrator. Im surely it was on there before I took the test drive, but must've shaken off when I hit 70+ mph, and never noticed it.

I have a 2013 so I don't have a shake issue, but, my frame and cross members is rusted much more than I would like. After seeing the pics above I was wondering if any of you guys have looked under your truck and have similar issues with rust? I did a google search and its all over the internet but I dont see it discussed here.

When I was researching trucks, I would look under the Fords, Rams and Chevys. From my sampling, the Fords and Rams had a TON of rust on them (new trucks) just sitting on the lot. The Chevys had the least. (I'm aware of the frame rust issue, I just haven't seen it from my sampling). My old 2000 Tahoe was almost rust free.

I do plan to spend some time touching up any minor spots on my new truck. Just because I like to see it clean/rust free. (Even if I'm the only one that will ever see it.)

The frame of my 2013 looks like its 50 years old. Its bad.

One guy that bought a 2015 HD Denali 3 months ago has a vibration on dieselplace.com, guys with HD's on this site have had the issue also.

Just want to chime in; 14' z71 Regular cab (built 7/14) on the GY SRA's and I am pretty sure I have caught a case of the shakes. Truck seemed fine first couple hundred miles, but I now jiggle like a worm anytime I hit smooth pavement at 70+. The issue does not seem too pronounced at lower speeds but I can almost use 70 mph as an on switch for the vibrator. The odd thing is that the shake is not felt in the steering wheel just the frame, either way another fun scheduled dealer visit I suppose.

Seems like the late build are vibration free. Have yet to see anyone with a late build complain.

Mine built in July 2014 hasn't vibrated yet. I'm at approx 650 miles.

For those that had the vibration issues fixed with tires, what kind of vibration problems did you have?

For me, I feel I have multiple issues, because I have some constant low frequency vibrations that feel like small rumble strips at 50mph (I feel this is steering wheel, gas pedal, floor), then a more intense pulsing vibration that happens at 65-70 (mainly feel this in gas pedal only), and finally I have a vibration that literally shakes the truck back and forth where I notice my center console/cup holders shaking left/right when I am driving at 80-85.

Which vibration type did the tires fix?

My truck with the 6.2 max trailering pack has that shutter also on hard acceleration in first and second gear, mine also has a tranny pump whining noise that is loud when the tranny is cold and gets a little better as the tranny warms up. Does yours have the whining noise?

My first truck whined so bad and vibrated. My newer one, almost no whine, no vibration

I wasn't triumphantly stating that mine didn't do it.

Simply stating my build date and mileage for data purposes.

I was saying in other words, you're lucky. I was one of the few who went through 30 days of my truck in a shop to have it "bought back". I gave them another shot because in love the way these new trucks look. My first had new tires, a set of tires off another truck in the lot, 3 shafts, a complete rear end(including rotors/calipers), engine shims, and about 40 hours of my time back and forth to the dealer, test rides ect. I've tried shifting to neutral, driving in M5, m4, and all this to never fix it. I even bought a bunch of sand at Home Depot to test for frame beaming... Weight in the bed made NO difference at all. The dealer pushed GM for trade in assistance cash so they didn't have to work on it anymore... On top of the vibration, my headlamps were always foggy, my seat moved, uneven tailgate cables, HVAC lights didn't work, 3rd brake light didn't have an illuminated switch that worked, exhaust squeaked going from v4-v8... My new truck had the slightest vibration, and after I put my nittos on, 7500 miles of smoothness. My only issue with the second is the seat started moving at 8700. Edited by 20Bowtie14

Talk about unlucky. Trust me I read all these problems before I picked mine up last week and just sorta said **** it, and am hoping for the best.

Believe me though, I am driving around just listening or feeling, waiting for things to go wrong. In hindsight, I probably should have just bought a different truck.

Again, hoping it works out for me.

    • Its no wonder you've gravitated to the oil types and brands you have in later years after trying certain brands and one being a specialty oil or at least very hard to come by up here and the other would have been a commonly found oil of the era and the vastly different outcomes as a result to using the vehicles in question the same distance for an OCI . It shows what marketing hype can do without actually having the product to back up the claims and that is no different now with the insane claims that are written on the side of a bottle of oil from some of the off the shelf oils.    What has surprised me and I was already finding this out before I bought my truck with the GDI engine, that this newer fancy technology that seemingly would suggest better fuel economy/emissions with this high pressure spray of fuel is not in reality kind at all to the engine or at least the oils life. Yet they insist on claiming long OCI with this technology just like they did with the port or similar type fuel injection systems when in reality its a step back in oil life to have a GDI system.    I think the mistake your making Grumpy is that your not sending your samples to Blackstone and getting the feel good glowing report that you can run it another 1000 or more miles and then send another sample where they say run it yet another 1000 miles and on and on it goes until your sending in something that looks a lot like road tar and then they may suggest you change your oil within the next 1000 miles 😆
    • I am guessing that engines of that design back then had a better ability to be abused and survive longer than a new design engine with the long timing chain and the overhead cams and phasers etc. But I would never guess that an engine could go that far and not fail spectacularly or at least die a slow death.
    • In the 80's 90's I'd run Honda's 7,500 miles between changes using Red Line HP 5W20 and do it for hundreds of thousands of miles with issues. Back in the day it was an SAE 20 with the HTHS of a SAE 30 and SN add load. It was also very polar. Oxidation VOA was over 120. Besides those motors were SPFI and lean burn tech. I could have likely run it longer but never did.    We had a Toyota bought new I ran on Pennzoil's latest and greatest synthetic of the day with "Penthane". A made up word for a very low dose of PAO. Tried 7,500 mile OCI's in that Group III/VI chemistry and the rings tapped out at 90K. Rocker box wasn't as bad as the one Punch put up but it wasn't good either. Also a SPFI motor.    I'm around 3,750 across the board on these GDI monsters and the oil it tapped out by then usually on TBN/TAN crossover and color. Red Line HP Euro.    The AMSOIL SS brochures tell you to follow the OEM values for the service class but that it can be run up to 25K if monitored. I can't imagine what motor could go that distance and not tap out. I've never owned one.    Yes, I know. Lot's of people do. I'm just not going to be one of them.
    • I knew a guy in the early 80's that bought a new Monte Carlo and ran it a 100,000 miles without ever changing the filter or the oil. Just kept adding. It looked like that inside.
    • Good evening. I was lucky enough to get passed down to me a 2007 GMC LBZ that was my great uncle's. While the underside and rockers are more or less gone I feel like with time I can restore it to working order since it only has 110,000 miles and he put nearly every option he could get without getting the new body style since he did not trust DEF. So far I have done everything I can think of but when I put the key into the ignition nothing happens. I put 2 brand new batteries in it. Cleaned the terminals. Check all the fuses and relays and they all pass with my multimeter. I know I'm missing something that I just cant think of. The only odd thing is the OBD2 port works which makes me think its not the mega fuse. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
