well, I got curious about the tires on my 18's, so I pulled out my window sticker and checked it. I paid an extra 350 for all terrain tires and have Wrangler SRA's... looks like I need to go back to my dealer for another issue haha

this is an absolute joke

Yea it isn't right. The SRAs are NOT all terrain tires, and to add to that they are extremely cheap tires. There is nothing about them that warrant a $200 or $350 upcharge. Ridiculous.

Doesn't look like we will have much ground to stand on for this case:

Not sure what that says cause it won't blow up big enough on my phone without it being blurry

I call BS on that. It's like GM decided to make a change, put SRAs on trucks that paid for the all-terrain option, and asked Goodyear to put that little all terrain logo on the website. There's no other website that consider SRAs to be all terrain tires. They are cheap, highway all-season tires.

It even says in the description on their website they are "original equipment". When you pay for the all-terrain upgrade, it says right on the window sticker "Replaces standard tires".

Regardless of if they are or aren't all terrain, my 2014 had these exact SRA tires on it, WITHOUT the $200 all-terrain tire option. Many other trucks do as well, right now, go look on a lot. So what did that $200 get me? Nothing.

Furthermore, tell me what tires WOULD have been on my truck, had I not paid for the $200 option. Probably the same tires...or, Goodyear Eagle LS2 tires, which are the same quality tire, cheap, pretty much the same price as SRA. On TireRack, the Eagles are actually $1 more expensive, lol. Some upgrade these SRAs are...

Unless these Eagle ls2 tires are ruled as the fault for my vibration, they have been a pretty good tire. Good street manners and do well in inclimate weather as well. Did pretty decent in my buddies muddy ass field while I was towing a trailer as well. Maybe I'm the only one who's had good luck with them so far.

Now if they're the cause of my vibration then they suck ass lol

My first 14 had ls2 tires and had the shakes. I also drove a HC with ls2 20's and it had the shakes as well.

my dealer already confirmed that the SRA's are not an all-terrain tire, everyone knows that. confirmed by tirerack as previously mentioned, my dealer is looking into getting me real A/T tires, and has told me to urge everyone to contact GM Customer assistance at 1-800-222-1020 regarding EVERY ISSUE WITH THE TRUCKS.... even they are sick of dealing with the complaints

Goodyear's website says they are AT so GM is not really cheating anyone even though the SRA's are cheap tires. They are also standard equipment on alot of other 4wd "off road" trucks. If GM put actual LT AT tires then people would raise hell about their gas mileage being below what the window sticker says it should be. If you don't like the tires then don't buy the truck or put on the set you want like everyone else does.

Problem is the manufacturer can market them however they want as I doubt there is a standard for what make an AT tire. And why wouldn't GY try to upsell the product. Typical marketing at work. And GM being stingy. I agree with part of your statement on the LT,s, I wouldn't expect an LT tire to come on the 1500 trucks. In any case I think most agree the GY's are not worth a $200-$300 upcharge and GM could be putting a better AT on with that upcharge. Looks like GM is getting away with it again just like the "normal operation" vibs people feel. Buy still I wonder why some like myself get the Bridgestones then. Is it a 4x4 vs z71 thing? Or an assembled in Mexico vs Fort Wayne thing? Or just a regional thing where final vehicle destination being a southern or northern state determines it.

let us not forget that even those trucks without the "upgrade" have WRANGLER SRA's which my dealer agrees is not an A/T tire, so no matter how you look at it, they owe us a better tire. I'm not paying an extra 350 to for the tire that come stock on the truck anyway.

    • My centre console USB ports haven’t been working and the one in the glovebox is starting to act up. Hoping for some advice on what I should be looking at.
    • The truck is a 1995 Chevrolet S10 Blazer, 4.3 VIN "W" engine. :cracks knuckles:   On a whim - because I needed a headache - this truck was for sale so I stopped to take a look. Doesn't run. Well, it does, but barely. Long crank, choppy idle, bad misfire(s), it REEKS of fuel. I can DO this..I'm thinking. Diamond in the rough. One owner until last year. A young guy is selling it, he bought it 6 months ago. It stranded him more than once, he's got a newborn. It was in the shop 10 days ago and he "thinks" they said it needs a new fuel injection system. He can't put any more money into it, needs it gone. I was thinking of upgrading my Macbook, which is a total want, not a need. For less than the price of a new laptop I can have fun for months tinkering on this truck and enjoying it. I'm taking this truck home. The guy was beyond thrilled, his wife was there, she thanked me profusely, I could tell they were hurting. They seemed like good people in a bind.   Some parts, a wash, maybe a set of tires, and I can have a few months of fun and then turn it for beer money (or the next project).   Sure enough, there's a work order from a shop last week in the INCHES of paperwork on this truck dating back to when the first owner bought it. They put a new distributor in it, fuel injection work describes basically opening the plenum and putting it back together. He said he couldn't afford any more work so he had them button it up and that's when he put it up for sale.   I'm not well versed in 4.3. I did discover 1995 uses the 1992-1995 SCPI "Spider" injector which is riddled with issues from splitting lines, clogged or cracked poppet valves and plastic spider legs that crumble over time. Cool. I'll just order me a ne---. Oh, the auto parts store doesn't have it? Rock Auto doesn't have it. eBay? $$$$$$ for used. These are UNAVAILABLE period end of story unless you know "a guy" who's still got one in a box somewhere.   Can't upgrade to the '96-'04 injector, it's a different plenum, wiring/pinout and sensor config.   There are a few kinda "know a guy" -guy rebuild services for these injectors out there for about $350. Okay, Okay... I'd like to know if anyone has used them? Anyone got a lead on these crappy 92-95 spiders?   I also don't want to send MY spider to Narnia and back without knowing if that's truly the problem. I guess I'll need to pull apart the plenum and do some digging.   I was also thrown for a loop. This 1995 model year truck has an OBD-II connector. The interface is decidedly not OBD-II. I can read and reset trouble codes and view live data, but there's not a lot of data. Like misfire count and on what cylinder, that's not there. It's OBD-1.5.   Nothing is ever easy. Now it makes sense why this guy wanted to disappear this thing for cheap. I'm guessing the shop told him the injector is toast, the part is unobtainable and they're not going to sort sending the thing to a rando offering rebuild service on craigslist, and the kid likely can't be without a working car for 3 weeks even if they'd facilitate that.   Experience with these early SCPI's? Stories? Things to check? Sympathy? (..Nah...)   This can sit until I sort it. But I haven't had a problem with a vehicle I couldn't easily solve in a long time.
