The rear end replacement (I don't honestly know what they replaced, could just have been the ring/pinion. Ive gotten little to no documentation. I know, I'm an idiot) didn't correct mine. I thought they might do something to get me out of it but $4000 of trade assistance looks to be it.

I'm sick of screwing with it honestly. I don't want a ford/dodge/toyota. This truck, until I drive it on the interstate, is fantastic. Rides smooth, good mpg for what it is, comfortable seats, etc. But I have a fairly expensive truck that I can't drive on the interstate.

I suppose they finally beat me into submission.

No insult was intended. I just find it hard to believe that you guys are willing to take yet another gamble, knowing that GM has done very little to address and eliminate these issues. There is someone on this forum who went through three different trucks hoping that he would finally get a good one, and they all had vibration issues. If vibration problems were as rare on these trucks as some claim, getting three trucks in a row with vibration issues would be like winning a lottery jackpot. I think the problem is a lot more common than it may appear. If only 0.1% of these trucks had vibration problems, and assuming random distribution of the defective trucks in the whole population, then the odds of getting three vibrating trucks in a row would be 1/1000 X 1/1000 X 1/1000 which is 1 in a billion! These odds are lower than those for winning a power ball lottery jackpot!

I think that would be 1/1000 x 1/999 x 1/998 but not different enough to matter...

I know exactly how you feel, I didn't want a ford/dodge/toyota either but now that I have one I am thrilled with it. It doesn't get good gas mileage, it doesn't have as many bells and whistles but I can drive it with a smile on my face. And it has much more comfortable seats, but that is just my preference, everyone likes different types of seats.

I waited a long time for a fix and it just doesn't look like it is coming. I'm glad i jumped ship and i'd do it again tomorrow. Every Chevy I have driven has this issue to some degree including the 2016 I test drove.

I have gone through the MSRP trade assist after BBB case...from 14 to 15. During my search for a 15, I test drove no less than 12 Sierra/Silverado trucks. All but 2 vibrated...and one of the 2, the one I have now...it vibrates just like the others. You cant even be sure when you test drive that the truck won't eventually develop problems.

Arbitration date is being set for my 15. Wonder if the same thing will happen...GM waits until 1-2 days before arbitration, calls you and hands you the win without a fight (this is what happened the first time I went though this).

Anyone actually gone to arbitration? I know there have been 1 or 2 people claiming they actually went...but I don't believe those posts as they sound fake...almost like GM reps trying to scare people into thinking customers always lose arbitration.

The vibration saga continues...

What is the synopsis of when and how this vibration occurs? Is it at any speed or just certain speeds?

My truck doesn't vibrate, it SHAKES. I absolutely loved it when I first got it. Now I hate it. At speeds over 70 it will make you sick to your stomach after about 20 minutes. I leave the keys in the ignition and windows down whenever I park it just praying someone takes it. It is my first and last GM vehicle. I work 65+ hours a week and don't have the time to take it to the dealer 4 plus times.

For the guys test driving 16s, mine didn't start shaking until it had about 15k on the odometer.

anyone else here notice the rear axle isn't lined up with the body 100%? I noticed when putting on my mudflaps the right rear tire sits farther towards the rear by about a fingers width. Wonder if that has anything to do with alignment issues with the rear end?

Yep, I noticed that on mine also when putting on my mud flaps. Not sure if it means anything though. I never took anymore measurements to see what was actually off. Only thing I notice on mine is a petal vibe at ~70+ mph.

If it happened that late, are you sure one of your tires does not have a loose steel belt or something like that? I had this problem once on one of my cars

and the hotter the bad tire got the worse the vibration got. Have you tried rotating the tires from front to back to see if shaking will get less severe? If that's your truck in the avatar, then it looks like it has aftermarket wheels/tires on it.

Got my truck back today. Road force balance the tires, and reprogrammed the TCM.

The truck rides smooth, but the center console and seats vibrate still. It's hard to explain.

Also, I know some have had their shocks replaced and the only thing I can think of as to why that would happen is when the trucks are transported to dealerships there is simply too much tension on them and when the trucks suspension is doing what it was designed to do it bottoms out. This is causing the shocks to fail before the truck even rolls onto the dealers lot.

Yes, aftermarket wheels and tires along with a leveling kit. Just another reason my dealer probably won't want to help. The shake seems to come from the rear. I've rotated the tires and had them checked for balance with no change. It is smooth as glass until I get above 71 mph.

They replaced the shocks on mine at 5000 miles, said they were trashed. It didn't help.

I have just dropped my truck off for its initial "service" of this issue. After taking the shop foreman for a ride and him trying to blame it on the suspension (and myself being very educated from this forum). He finally admitted to it "vibrating". Then when we got back to the service counter, (keep in mind this is my first interaction with the service dept as my truck has 2000 miles) the service manager comes out and asks if I'm interested in a buy back from GM. I say "If that is an option and the issue can not be fixed, then yes later I would be". He swiftfully tells the service advisor to give me GM's buyback # and says they are not going to get involved....... My blood starts to boil and I explain they still need to service/test the vehicle as I need a service record before I would even attempt to get a buyback. Also after repeatedly explaining I like my truck I want to keep it, he finally realized this is my first visit and they have never touched the truck. They finally say they will look at it even tho it is a "normal" vibration...... LOL.

No loaner vehicle yet as the truck has not been there over 24hrs and SA insisted they would have it back to me by tomorrow....... Im sure I will be seeing them many many times here in the next few weeks.

I know my situation is just beginning... However I do want to thank all for your great surplus of info/experiences.

I will post as things progress..

I am interested in some different expert opinions regarding torque converter shudder.

My vibration seems to be when torque converter locks up. I do not have vibration at down shift.

I have vibration soft pedaling thru town. If I run it harder, I do not seem to feel the vibration.

Highway driving / cruising at 65 plus gets a vibration - torque converter locked up?

Would a TC shudder get worse when the motor goes from V6 to V4?

I know only very little about the function of the torque converter.

How can it be tested to determine if this is a potential root cause? What systems do our trucks have that would be wearing out that would allow us to feel shudder at lock up? Engine mounts?

Will the torque converter lock up in M5?

With those that have tunes or tuned out AFM, did it change the vibration harmonics / frequency because shift points were adjusted?

I know there has to be some experts on here who know the workings of automatic trans and torque converters!

Need some help here.

Purchased a 15 Silverado 1500

I have noticed vibration when driving at highway speeds

They balanced my tires and and did an alighment.....I am still running into the same issue.

I am going to take it to the dealer tomorrow, is there anything specific I should ask/tell them to get my vechicle fixed? This is only happening at highway speeds.
