If this winds up helping AbominableZ71 I have some thoughts on the body mounts.

A) It could be because of the added thickness absorbing the vibration

B) Could be different material in Zone body mounts that might help it damper road imperfections better

If it is B, I would even consider ordering the zone kit and cutting the body mounts to stock thickness and trying it.

Sure hope we are onto something here!

I was about to ask the exact same question. I'm almost willing to bet its the material.

abominable z71, did you happen to take a pic of the mounts side by side, or compare the materials at all?

If GM won't do it, any aftermarket supplier that comes up with a better stock height body mount kit will make a fortune.

Old vehicles vibrate. They just do. 50's, 60's, 70s, but the vibrations were kept down with rubber motor, trans, cab/body and suspension mounts. Modern suppliers offer the same parts in polyurethane or some other much stiffer material, but that usually ends up making the old car/truck vibrate or feel the road more.

Yes, I've had the issues. I found they do not reply to phone messages or emails. Last week I sent 3 emails and 4 phone messages. The only way I was able to talk with my guy was to keep calling and he finally answered his phone. I really feel this system is designed to wear the customer out until we finally give up! Good luck with yours.

I finally got through to them today after numerous unanswered calls and emails. They are setting up arbitration in January at my local BBB. Hopefully I get an offer a few days in advance like others have but I will be prepared with witness statements and video. Whats the status on yours?

I know my last body lift was just a spacer, not an entire body mount. Essentially they are the same body mount with a spacer on top

Ah yeah, good call. Here is the link to the body lift. http://zoneoffroad.com/zone-offroad-products-15in-body-lift-chevy-gmc-pickup/c9151

Maybe the spacers keep enough of the cab off of the frame that the vibes don't make it into the driver area.

Mine is in for a PICO analysis. The first recordings pointed to engine related but barely above specification. I specifically mentioned motor mounts to the service. What other would pop a vibration on the same order as engine?

By the way, I also can feel the worse of it in the steering wheel.

The spacers in the kit look like a plastic material not sure just guessing.

Most body lifts are either polypropylene or some type of composite material, they work fine. Had mine for 2 years on my lifted truck, not a single issue. Made maintenance a lot easier underneath too

I was just wondering what material the kit spacers were made of, if they were made of plastic wouldn't stop vibration very well but if a polypropylene with some give I can see it helping to stop vibrations.

I have no firm date but was told it should be week after Christmas or first week of January. They did tell me they usually give 10 days notice.

Hey Bill, have you had time to see what kind of fuel mileage your getting. Just curious if they have found 1 or 2 more mpgs yet. At least fuel prices have dropped so not as big of deal.

HI,

I've been playing with my new car for the last few days so the Tundra still has under 300 miles on it, but It is sticking right at 15 MPG around town.

I am taking it on a nice highway round trip to New Hampshire tomorrow. I'll clear the data and let you know how it does.

Well the PICO pulled what the dealer said was a first order tire but they were going to send it to GM for analysis and what to look for...

First order tire is easy, tire or wheel out of round. I don't believe GM would need to analyze that data as that is sort of a no brainer

I think they meant first order engine which would match his comments Friday about "engine related frequencies".

What would cause a first order engine vibration?

What would cause a first order engine vibration?

Improperly balanced flywheel, defective or damaged engine mounts, improper valve timing. etc.
