New to the post. Have had my new Sierra since nov.26. Dealer has had it more than I have. Sle crew cab standard bed 3.42 gears 5.3.

First said I hit a curb and had to replace a tire. They had it for 7 days. This time said needed to road force balance it. ( they did last time also. 5 days later said there is a problem and they have a call into gm. Both of the loaners I've had and still have both vibe rate too. After reading this post I feel lucky that they admitted that there is a problem.

Being one that is OCD about tire vibration and smooth ride I:

1. Consider replacing any non Michelin tire on a new ride on day of purchase or in the first week, just a truck Mod.

2. Fully understand that most dealers could not balance a tire giving them a month.

3. fully understand that Some places that road force balance are better than others.

4. Am lucky to have a shop with in 35 miles that trues and high speed balances on the vehicle.

Again, I know it is a frustrating, but for the cost of a bed spray or cover you could be riding on Michelins LTX. Then:

1. you would have good tires for 60-80,000. I get 100,000 on the older model LTXs.

2. you would know for sure if it is the tires so you can move on to other areas with the dealer.

Also, My tires are trued, high speed balance on the truck (balances rotor, wheel and tire and must wheel remain on the balanced stud location) and ride on Bilstein shocks (5100s). On smooth hwy it rides like glass BUT on rougher roads you get shake, seat movement and things moving around. Steering wheel is not shaking.

So make sure your vibration issue is on very smooth roads. Usually a concrete overpass will be smooth or a just finished road. Good luck.

Initial Review, 500 Miles on Tires
December 15, 2012

THIS TIRE IS TERRIBLE. I have a 2010 GMC Acadia and the vibration is very bad. I can't believe the ratings on this tire were the best. I had the tires aligned and balanced twice. I talked to the place that put the tire on the car and they stated that they went through 4 sets of Continental Ecoplus tires before switching to the Bridgestone Dueler on a different Acadia. If you have a GMC, save yourself the trouble and stay far away from this tire.

Initial Review, 700 Miles on Tires

Good gravy!! Vibration and horrible bouncing lead me to have road force measurement test done and results are all 4 tires being out of round. Tire Rack continues to assist us to the best of their ability. This is not a Tire Rack but rather a crappy Continental quality issue. Looking forward to Continental doing the "right thing".

About 10 years ago I bought two Continental passenger car tires for my Mazda from tirerack. Both tires were giving me bad vibration. Further investigation on my part showed that they were completely out of round. This is the last set of Continental tires I ever bought. Continental quality control has evidently slipped way too low.

I must say that the OEM Bridgestone Duellers on my truck have been really good and trouble free tires. Same for the OEM Goodyear Eagles on my Impala.

I have used quite a few sets of Kumho tires in the past and never had problems with any of them. They are Korean made, very reasonably priced, and generally good quality. Kumho Ecsta ASX tires cost only $ 100/piece for my Impala in size P235/50-R18 W. W speed rating is good for 168 MPH so these are high performance tires.

Kumho also makes SUV and light truck tires.

From what I've seen it don't much matter what tires are on these new trucks.

If they vibrate they vibrate. Changing tires hasn't seemed to help a lot

Of the people on here. I can't wait to see what my dealer comes back with

this time. Guess as long as I'm driving a loaner truck from them I don't

care how long they take as long as they get it right.

Has anyone heard anything positive from their dealers yet?

I was ready to buy a new Silverado and just for the heck of it did a google
search and found this thread, OMG!

I am in total disbelief you'all are this far into the problem , and GM nor
the Jennifer is pulling your trucks in and making it right.

my initial thought was pinion angle problems like ford had on the
150.....still not sold that is not the problem.....been thinking hard on this
though.......

question for you guys, have you noticed it happening when its trying to run
in 4 cyl mode?

Peace, B.

Glad I came upon this thread tonight, I just left the dealership up here after being offered a great deal. I was about to sign all the paperwork and hand them the keys to my 06 F150 (that still drives great) but I had that knot in my stomach so I said I needed the night to think it over. Long story short, googling 14 sierra problems brought me straight here I probably won't be going back after reading this, especially knowing GM doesn't have a clue. It mystifies me that this issue can stump designers, engineers and technicians on a $40,000 truck. The one thing that sucks is that the '14 sierra sle 4x4 I'm about to get blows the '14 f150 and ram out of the water as far as looks and the cabin go. This seems like a truck that will take me to the year 2020 and I won't regret a moment. The 14 F150 however is no better looking inside or out than my 06. I want to love this Sierra but I'm not sure If I can live with the nagging feeling that something major will go wrong after 1k. Maybe they will put my almost new Firestone Destination AT's on the new one and put the Sierras tires on my trade, they are the same size. Hopefully that is the problem but it doesn't sound like it. Probably backing out completely and waiting till this summer for the 15 F150. Kinda bummed. (but also glad i know)

My truck is awesome..the interior the exterior design and the engine is top notch..there is no truck better in my belief out there even though i have a serious tire issue..

GM dont give two shits about getting my truck fixed or not..I got vibes they think its ok to have a huge vibration..

On the other aspect once its fixed one way or another I will be 100% happy with it...

just road test it test everthing..and make sure u get it up to 75 mph make sure no vibes

I love the truck and my corvette..nothing better
