Saddly I have now developed the dreaded vibration that starts at exactly 20 mph and stops exactly at 30 mph . Doesn't vibrate at any other speed very strange . You can feel it in the steering wheel and gas peddle also a little on the floor Board . It feels like your on a pebbled street or rumble strip . Anyway I will be taking it in for service in the near future . Love this truck but the vibration is very annoying . Didnt really notice it for a while but now that I have I don't enjoy my truck as much . Freeway speeds are smooth but city driving is when I'm in and out of the vibrating mph . Accelerating you don't feel it but steady speed anywhere between 20 and 30 mph or stopping for a light it does it . Hope they have a fix : (

Ok, so this coming Monday will mark the 4th consecutive week that my brand new truck will have been in the service department. If they do not call this week, does that mean that I am eligible for the lemon law in the state of Tennessee? I heard somewhere that 30 days is the mark.

Are they gold plating it?

The dealership rebalanced my Goodyear SR-A tires 29 days since the last time they did it, at which time they replaced one that would not force balance below 15lbs. Well, they said they matched balanced one that was off, and the other three were only generating 4-6lbs of force. Now the truck vibrates more.

Time to go find a good tire shop...

Maybe it is time to trade for a vibrating 2016 model? Are they out yet?

As I said several times before, road force variation, even if zero, does not guarantee good wheel balance. Proper wheel balancing does. So once again, measuring road force variation and correcting wheel imbalance are two different parameters. Hunter 9700 wheel balancer, first measures the road force variation (if that option is selected by the operator), then wheel imbalance. If the road force variation is excessive, the machine will flag it. Low force variation means the tire is very little out of round. It does not mean the wheel is properly balanced. If the machine is improperly calibrated or the wheel is incorrectly mounted, chances are they balanced the wheels wrong. Way wrong. Possibly they all are out by as much as 1 ounce. This will cause very unpleasant vibration at high speeds. I have seen this before. More than once.

Perhaps the main reason for a bad balancing job is selection of an improper size cone to center the wheel on the machine. If you use a cone that is too large and catches on the outer lip of the center hole, the wheel will not be properly centered. A combination of a proper fitting spring loaded cone on the inside of the wheel and a good quality wheel lug adapter on the outside of the wheel is the best way to mount a wheel on the machine.

Or maybe it's not a tire issue....

It vibrated after I first got it. They replaced a tire and forced balanced all 4. It no longer vibrated. Then a slight vibration came back around 55mph. They checked all four and messed with one. Now its worse than when it went in the day before.

So either we have a heck of a coincidence on something else coming into play, or they didn't do it right. My money is on the later based on the experience so far. Worst case scenario is I dump these crap Goodyears for Michelins and then rule out tires.

As you said, time to find a competent tire shop.

Hi reporting to what I believe is the correct thread for my issue:

From what I'm reading there is not much of a solution for the vibration problem. I have 2014 6.2l with the max trailering package as I tow a 8000lb toy hauler. Truck tows great but the vibration when towing is getting worse. I'm not sure if this is the same problem as mentioned in this thread but as you can imagine when towing you put a big load on the truck - this is making the vibration bad.

I've already brought the truck in three times to fix problems and with only 6000 miles on it I'm disappointed to have to bring it in another time.

Has anyone looked at the transfer case? Driving along @60-65mph on a newly paved concrete tollway, going straight, I put the truck into 4 wheel drive "Auto" mode. The rumble strip vibration I have been struggling with suddenly gets much worse. When I disengage the 4 wheel "Auto" back to 2 wheel "Hi", after several miles it seems to dissipate back to a slight rumble strip vibration (felt in the steering wheel and pedal and slightly in the seat) especially at 40-50 mph.

Perhaps something in the front drive line is the source... Putting in 4 wheel "Hi" also has the same affect.. and I am going completely straight forward.

As soon as i took those shitty azz tires off my truck its been smooth as can be. Ive got 12k on it and still ridin smooth. The other day i was coming home from BPS and i decided to take the highway to see if my vibration had came back... Nope, smooth all the way to 85. I'm not saying tires will fix everyones trucks, but im sure glad i didnt screw with the dealer on my 2nd go round

    • I have never seen GM instructions for the other trucks as per the HD with the 6 speed or the half tons but had got the impression that the HD trucks with the 6 speed were not having the same problem that the 10 speed and pan presented. Also video that I have seen of the HD 10 speed with the gas engine starting in 2024 model year showed that it was a real struggle to even make it work when pulling down hard on the exhaust after undoing the exhaust hanger bracket on the side of the transmission as after all there is little room for the pipe to even go down behind the Y joint as it soon would hit a frame cross member. Also that they had tried just like I did with the gasket off and no way was that pan coming out any way they tried to manipulate the pan. From that as well as the local transmission shop talking about the pain in the rear issue, I was not expecting my pan to come out because GM shows it was not even intended to come out without dealing with the exhaust piping.    It would be nice to claim, here's what you do and its easy to remove the pan guaranteed on any HD truck with the gas 10 speed but dollars to donuts the next guy trying what I did would not have the same luck as the exhaust was just manufactured slightly different and be pissed off at my claim that the pan comes out with no issue. Its more of a try and see if your particular truck might work like mine did .... or not !.
    • Sorry I didn't see this until now, but it works on both the 6 speed and 10 speeds, as well as all the half tons too.
    • Hello, I have a 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 that I recently changed both motor mounts on due to the driver's side being blown out. After replacement I seem to have a steady vibration that I can feel in the pedals and the back of the seat. At this point I'm convinced that the aftermarket "Anchor" branded mounts I used are not performing as well as OE, the only real reason I ended up using the mounts in question was because my local dealers were out a few months to get a Driver's side mount. I've tried "Neutralizing" the mounts according to the motor mount TSB published for these truck to no avail. My trans mount is also in great shape and seems to be absorbing vibrations swimmingly. As far as I can tell there is no issues idling, my idle RPM is steady and I've recently put GM plugs and wires on, however, I have not cleaned the throttle body or intake valves. Any one else have a similar experience with aftermarket mounts? Patience certainly is a virtue that I wish I exercised here. Thank you!
    • I still saw people out for runs, on their bikes/motorcylces, jeeps with the doors off driving around here the past 2 days. I guess we are just used to it here haha.   Tasted like a bonfire the last 2 days.
    • The TCM has to be flashed before it can drive.   If you installed it the way it is, it has the OS (operating system/program) from the 2010 truck you got it from. That will not match with the VIN/OS pair that your 2013 truck has.   You can do the full install. Then tow it to a dealership and they can flash the trucks PCM/TCM with the latest program for your VIN.
