I've got my eye on this one, Gibson seems to have the deepest rumble of the ones ive listened too. After my new rims get put on tomorrow the exhaust is next. what do you guys think

I had that one on my 09 and liked it. It's quiet in normal driving but a nice low rumble when you get on it. I would check Jegs website for prices. I got my stainless system for 531 shipped.

I installed the (140537) Borla Atak cat-back with dual rear tips back in Dec. My wife wasn't really happy with the sound(too loud) and didn't like riding in the truck. So I talked to Steve @ Borla (great guy) and he suggested the (406070) TurboXL, so here it is about 5+ months and 3k miles later. My wife wears headphones and reads when in the truck, the Turbo Xl sits unopened in the corner of the workshop and I LOVE the sound after the system has broken in. Not obnoxious in my book, but when you hit it, people notice...... :D

I'm looking into straight piping the truck for now till I get my full system in. Any one know what size the pipe is? Looks like 3" before muffler and 2.5" after. Any help?

An 18" magnaflow is nearly unheard on the interstate/highway speeds. Mainly heard during start up or decent to heavy acceleration. Anyone who says its too loud should've stayed stock IMO

That being said, I think a muffler in the 18" range should be just fine for the pup and doubt the bed would become a giant subwoofer. If you are really worried then you could always get a bed rug bed mat to drop in, should help kill some sound because of its rug like design.

And for my last opinion which will likely catch a lot of flack from somec, you could even do an exhaust cut out. Costs the same amount to have it installed as a muffler swap, and you can open or close the exhaust. If you want it louder, open the cut out, getting on the highway and want the piece of mind that you definitely won't be bothering the dog? Close the cut out. I got it on my truck and love it. I open it in the city and when getting on the highway close it up (most of the time) cause it can become a real drone maker with it open at 75

Ps, I had an 18" magnaflow put on my truck before I picked it up from the dealer on Day 1. I put on 18K miles and then decided I wanted it to be a bit louder (SOMETIMES) so I decided to get a cut out. I have been loving the flexibility of the cut out so much

Hey Mike do u have pics of ur exhaust setup

The second pic shows the cutout and my muffler. I have the 18" magnaflow single in dual out, with the tailpipes under the rear bumper

Just towed my ~5,000 # pontoon boat to the lake last weekend over the interstate at 65-70 mph and on back roads from 45-60 mph. The Dynomax VT still sounds great with no annoying interior noise-even under load with a trailer and switching into V4. In my past experience, towing amplifies any noise from an exhaust that resonates or drones. *very pleased* :D

Here are pic's of my Magnaflow #15318 for the 6.2, no drone!

How does it sound when driving and accelerating? Got the same system in the garage, just have not time to install it. Got any sound clips or video?

Does anyone know if the drone exists, or is as bad, with the V6 after installing a new system? I'd like to get a system and forget about the flapper but it seems everyone refers to experience with the V8....

Ordered Borla ATAK... can't wait to hook this up. Most aggressive exhaust out there for these trucks. Then comes Kooks headers and y-pipe.

Ordered Corsa today...

I knew you couldn't resist. I thought you said were going to stay "stock" this time around. I know, same thing with me, just couldn't stay with that wimpy "Factory" sound. Let me know how you like it once installed. I don't know if you remember me, but I'm the guy with the "GM Borla" system, and I couldn't be happier.

I don't think staying stock is possible once you join a forum lol
