The HD will turn back on after the next key cycle.

TJay, I saved all my stations after turning HD off, and it's never been on since. Been over a month now since the module update. I keep checking to make sure too. It definitely stays off.

Then they have changed the programming from what I got in mine. From the factory before all of this escalated it only stayed off until you changed the channel or preset. then when I got mine it stayed off until the key cycle, now it seems they finally got it right with it staying off all of the time.

Sad though still, they just need to fix the signal reception and then the HD would be fine.

I had a new module installed this week, but the software version did not change. Sierra SLE

Software: 23427523

Gracenote: 23427515

For those that have had both the module and software updates, what software version do you have installed?

i had the software update, but no module. Its stays HD a little better but still not good.. and when no in HD it sounds like @#@@$, i cant believe how crappy it sounds outside of HD.

since the 2015 dont have HD, do they sound like crap all time in FM? or did they beef up the FM reception to sound as good as HD.? which would be better then 2014 setup obviously

Sorry for the noob question but what site is this? I didn't see it on the in star app. Would this be a direct gm site ? Thanks in advance , unfortunately after disabling the hd radio, the standard radio sounds terrible.

This is on the infotainment system in your truck.

Step 1 find the end model p/n. No you cannot get these numbers without a proper scan tool.

Step 2. "Before updating software, check the tuner build version. The “Audio Soft Version” label should be 000478 or lower. If version 000478 is already installed, DO NOT reprogram. Software corruption can occur."

Fairly straight forward. Don't understand the confusion. No available correlation between build date and p/n. Could be one but not apparent though.

Well, I finally checked the "Audio Soft Version" and found it to be 000478.

Based on tbarns's info, "Before updating software, check the tuner build version. The “Audio Soft Version” label should be 000478 or lower." Or do I not need the update, " If version 000478 is already installed, DO NOT reprogram. Software corruption can occur."

OK finally heard back from the Chief Engineer today. He said they are still working with the infotainment vendor on the algorithm that the radio uses to handle the multipath issues and HD switching. Said they will be calling me on a conference call in the next week or so to go over some things.

Good that they are still working on it, frustrating though that after how many years of pre-production and now a year after launch and the vendor still doesn't have the issue sorted out. I told him I still think there is a reception issue (weakness) based on my non-scientific test of seeing how far my truck and my wifes 2011 Lincoln MKX can hold stations. Her car consistently holds the stations 10-15 miles longer than my truck.

I guess we will see where this goes from here.

Hi Todd! Did you ever get included on that conference call that? What was the outcome?
