I got the same setup, really like the dash cam. I'm surprise at how well it shows on the back window with a 5% tint.. :D

I agree, @jpinoy, thanks!
Work's been a little crazy, I'll post up a vid this weekend.

Finally did  @jaeisber bed/cargo light switch mod.  Very nice to be able to turn the cargo lights on without getting my dirty hands in the truck at night.

By bed/cargo light mod, do you mean adding the diode to the BCM?

No,  adding a physical button the back of the truck bed to power on cargo lights without going in cab.

I installed a 3 channel dash cam this weekend.
It records front, cabin, and rear.
I'll post some pics tomorrow, works great!
Running the cables wasn't too difficult, I removed the passenger side grab handle to run the front cable through that, after tucking into the head-liner at the upper windshield and routing it to the 12V connection on the console.
The rear cam, well, I went through the headliner and under the upper weather stripping on front and rear doors, (still exposed over the B-pillar, I'll have to fix that soon) then, over and in the rear C-pillar and through the rear head liner so the exposed cable was as short as possible.
It's the VanTrue N4 and I do recommend it, though I suggest setting it up with a power connection for different options prior to install as it's kind of a pain after install, for me, at least, but, likely won't be for most.

I bought a painted to match XM Antenna, MONTHS AGO, my son and I are going to put that on and while I have my headliner somewhat apart, we're also going to put in my camera system, that I got a few weeks ago.

I have a Uniden DC115 that we've been moving from vehicle to vehicle, when we travel.  Forgot to take it with us to NC for 4 July weekend.  Going to put that one in my wife's MB.  The new one (for my truck) is VanTrue N4.

Took advantage of the crazy used car market and traded my 2014 LTZ with 84k miles for this 2021 1500 High Country with the 3.0 Duramax. Only have 400 miles on it but loving it so far!

I did pill flip too and got caught in stop and go traffic for about 20 miles on highway in 95⁰ weather and I watched it rise. It ended up going to around 180⁰ but once traffic broke up, it went back down. I know before doing the thermostat hack, it would have been above 190⁰ and would have never dropped below that. So I guess it's a success. But I need to do some more testing in different conditions. Next week will be a big one as I will be towing my camper for first time after mod. Last time I saw temps sometimes reach almost 220⁰ but expect it won't get any where near there this time. I was going through some grades in northern Arkansas and S/E Missouri. This time will be more level heading to central Wisconsin.

Rubber or plastic?

Rubber or plastic?

It’s rubber with a metal band inside. The metal band clamp onto the tube and as overtime the rubber pretty much bond onto the tube and won’t let go. Sooooo the only way to get the filter off is to rip it off. I spent over an hour try to get it off without ripping butttttt no luck.

    • I have never seen GM instructions for the other trucks as per the HD with the 6 speed or the half tons but had got the impression that the HD trucks with the 6 speed were not having the same problem that the 10 speed and pan presented. Also video that I have seen of the HD 10 speed with the gas engine starting in 2024 model year showed that it was a real struggle to even make it work when pulling down hard on the exhaust after undoing the exhaust hanger bracket on the side of the transmission as after all there is little room for the pipe to even go down behind the Y joint as it soon would hit a frame cross member. Also that they had tried just like I did with the gasket off and no way was that pan coming out any way they tried to manipulate the pan. From that as well as the local transmission shop talking about the pain in the rear issue, I was not expecting my pan to come out because GM shows it was not even intended to come out without dealing with the exhaust piping.    It would be nice to claim, here's what you do and its easy to remove the pan guaranteed on any HD truck with the gas 10 speed but dollars to donuts the next guy trying what I did would not have the same luck as the exhaust was just manufactured slightly different and be pissed off at my claim that the pan comes out with no issue. Its more of a try and see if your particular truck might work like mine did .... or not !.
    • Sorry I didn't see this until now, but it works on both the 6 speed and 10 speeds, as well as all the half tons too.
    • Hello, I have a 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 that I recently changed both motor mounts on due to the driver's side being blown out. After replacement I seem to have a steady vibration that I can feel in the pedals and the back of the seat. At this point I'm convinced that the aftermarket "Anchor" branded mounts I used are not performing as well as OE, the only real reason I ended up using the mounts in question was because my local dealers were out a few months to get a Driver's side mount. I've tried "Neutralizing" the mounts according to the motor mount TSB published for these truck to no avail. My trans mount is also in great shape and seems to be absorbing vibrations swimmingly. As far as I can tell there is no issues idling, my idle RPM is steady and I've recently put GM plugs and wires on, however, I have not cleaned the throttle body or intake valves. Any one else have a similar experience with aftermarket mounts? Patience certainly is a virtue that I wish I exercised here. Thank you!
    • I still saw people out for runs, on their bikes/motorcylces, jeeps with the doors off driving around here the past 2 days. I guess we are just used to it here haha.   Tasted like a bonfire the last 2 days.
