When a K2 Silverado turns over and torques the whole truck

No questions or complaints, but damn I love starting my truck! I've owned a Chevy ('06 5.3) and a Toyota truck before this and neither of them fired up quite like this one does. I love how refined and smooth everything is, but the microsecond that DI 5.3 turns over I love watching it torque the whole truck! Nothing like seeing your hood twist a few degrees when that power plant turns over! It reminds me I'm driving a V8, not a turbo V6!

Mine doesn't do that. I hear the noise of the starter and then the engine starting up. Now my old Mustangs would do what you are describing.

My old belair will torque the whole car when you bump the throttle (either that, or it will shut off.... smh..) but I haven't noticed my silverado doing it.

 

I agree its a cool feeling though.

I love the shake in the cabin with just a little throttle in park.. along with the great V8 sound.. You just cant beat it..

Movement in PARK

This information applies to 2007 and prior passenger cars and light duty trucks equipped with automatic transmission.

Some vehicles may move slightly forward or reverse while in Park at start up after a cold soak and may be accompanied by a clunk noise. The movement is due to the residual transmission fluid in the clutch packs that creates a partial apply on start up. The movement is stopped by the parking pawl and/or transmission fluid exhausting completely from the clutch packs.

This slight movement has no adverse effect on the transmission and no repair should be attempted. This condition is normal and can be verified by comparing with another identically built vehicle under the same cold conditions.

To prevent this condition from occurring, the parking brake should be used according to Owner Manual recommendations anytime the vehicle is parked."

i really cant see it being the transmission....its not a lunging forward or reverse feeling just the engine turning over

He's referring to the East to West movement, not North to South.
